A Fairytale Fortress Above the Clouds – My Visit to the Alcázar of Segovia
#summervacay #AlcazarOfSegovia #SegoviaCastle #FairytaleCastle #SpainLandmarks #SegoviaSpain #UNESCOSite #HistoricSpain #DayTripFromMadrid #SpanishArchitecture #CastleViews
Visiting the Alcázar of Segovia felt like walking into the pages of a fairytale. Perched high on a rocky cliff with sweeping views of the surrounding plains, the castle’s pointed turrets and stone walls looked straight out of a storybook—no wonder it’s said to have inspired Disney’s Cinderella Castle.
I arrived in the afternoon, and the sunlight cast a soft golden glow over the walls. As I explored the royal halls, armor displays, and stone corridors, I couldn’t help but imagine what life must’ve been like when kings and queens ruled from here. The Hall of Kings was particularly striking, lined with detailed busts of Castilian royalty.
Climbing to the top of the tower was a bit of a workout, but the panoramic view of Segovia’s rooftops and the distant mountains made it absolutely worth it. It’s not just a historical monument—it’s an immersive journey through Spanish history and imagination.
Travel Tips & How to Get There:
• Best time to visit:
• Afternoon for lovely light and fewer tour groups.
• Try to stay until golden hour for the best photos.
• How to get there:
• From Madrid, take a high-speed train (AVE) to Segovia-Guiomar Station (~30 mins).
• Then take a bus or taxi to the old town.
• The Alcázar is about a 15-minute walk from Segovia Cathedral, slightly uphill.
• Tips:
• Buy tickets in advance if visiting during weekends or holidays.
• Don’t skip the tower climb—the views are spectacular.
• Bring a camera with a wide-angle lens—the exterior and views deserve it.
• Combine with a visit to the aqueduct and cathedral for a perfect day trip.

🇫🇷 Stop Going to Versailles! This Fairytale Castle Is the Real Dream ✨
#summervacay
📍Château de Pierrefonds | Pierrefonds, France
Who says fairytales only exist at Disneyland? Yesterday, I literally saw a king and queen in real life 👑💃!
At this medieval castle that looks even more Disney than Disney, we stumbled upon a live performance by the Paris Symphony Orchestra, girls in ball gowns dancing, and even the King and Queen themselves made an appearance — and no, it wasn’t a play. It was real life!
🧡 Gothic towers, surrounded by forests, and a cloudy day adding the perfect moody filter... it felt like I walked into the world of Beauty and the Beast ✨
As the orchestra echoed through the stone halls and dancers twirled in the grand hall, it really felt like time-travel. I was in awe. The event only happens once a year, and we were so lucky to catch it 🎻👑
🌿 By the way, the little town of Pierrefonds is also super charming — fairytale vibes, a bit vintage, and best of all, barely any tourists.

Bike trip to Bojnice Castle 🚲
#biketour
I recently went on a bike trip to Bojnice Castle in Slovakia, and it was such an awesome adventure! 🚴♂️ The ride itself was scenic, with beautiful views of the Slovak countryside, and getting to see the castle appear on the horizon was like stepping into a fairy tale. The entrance fee to the castle was around €10, and it was worth every cent. Bojnice Castle is one of the most stunning castles I’ve ever visited, with its medieval architecture, beautiful interiors, and rich history.
After touring the castle, I spent some time in the nearby Bojnice Zoo, which is just a short walk away and a great spot for a relaxing afternoon. I also explored the lovely town of Bojnice, filled with cute cafes and great places to grab a snack after the ride. If you’re into biking and history, this trip is an absolute must!

Just returned from a lovely trip to La Clayette, and it was the perfect mix of history, nature, and relaxation! 🌳🏰 La Clayette is a charming town in the Saône-et-Loire department of Burgundy, France, and it feels like a hidden gem. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the stunning Château de La Clayette, a fairytale castle surrounded by a moat. Although the castle itself isn’t open to the public, the views from the outside were breathtaking, and wandering around the grounds was free! The reflections of the castle in the water were picture-perfect. 📸
I spent the morning strolling through the quaint streets of the town, which is filled with pretty little shops, bakeries, and cafés. I stopped at a local patisserie to grab a freshly baked croissant and a coffee, enjoying it while soaking in the atmosphere. 🥐☕ Just a short walk from the castle is the Parc du Château, a beautiful park where you can relax by the lake or take a leisurely walk. The whole area is so peaceful, making it a great spot for a picnic or some downtime.
In the afternoon, I visited the nearby Arboretum de Pézanin, which is free to enter. It’s one of the oldest and largest arboretums in France, with over 4,000 species of trees. 🌲🌳 Walking along the trails was a refreshing way to connect with nature. If you’re looking for a quiet escape with historical charm and natural beauty, La Clayette is definitely worth a visit! #trip #LaClayette #Burgundy #FairytaleCastle #FrenchCountryside #TravelDiaries
