Luxury Camping at the Foot of Mount Fuji
On the Yamanashi Prefecture side of Mount Fuji, there are five lakes—Lake Kawaguchi, Lake Yamanaka, Lake Sai, Lake Motosu, and Lake Shoji—collectively known as the "Fuji Five Lakes." These lakes are prime spots for enjoying views of Mount Fuji.
Lake Kawaguchi is already a well-known tourist hotspot, bustling with crowds at hotels, restaurants, and attractions, which can detract from the comfort of the experience. In contrast, Lake Sai, Lake Motosu, and Lake Shoji have fewer tourist facilities. Ultimately, we chose Lake Yamanaka for its tranquility, fewer visitors, and stunning scenery. 👍
Public transportation around Lake Yamanaka is not well-developed, so driving is more convenient. 👍 If visiting in winter, be sure to equip your car with snow tires for safety.
From central Tokyo, it takes about two hours by car to reach the luxury camping hotel Vision Glamping Resort & Spa 🏕️.
Each guest room at the hotel is a standalone unit featuring a transparent dome tent that offers a panoramic view of Mount Fuji. The rooms are equipped with private bathrooms, dining areas, kitchens, and open-air baths. The hotel also provides ingredients for guests to cook their own meals, combining convenience with the essence of camping—a thoughtful touch.
At sunset, head to Shiratori Beach to watch the sun dip below the horizon. The sight of Mount Fuji bathed in the golden glow of the setting sun, swaying reeds in the breeze, and swans gliding across the lake creates a poetic and picturesque scene.
At night, gather around the campfire to chat, play with fireworks, soak in the hot springs, stargaze, and listen to the sounds of nature. This serene moment allows you to completely escape the hustle and bustle of daily life.
