Experience the magic in Edinburgh!
A must visit city to add to your itinerary! I highly recommend spending 2-3 days exploring in Edinburgh. If you’re sticking to just the city limits, then you can get to most places on foot.
I started my 2-day trip in Edinburgh with a walk down Royal Mile to visit the independent shops and see amazing historic architecture.
Then walked down to the colourful Victoria Street to see what inspired JK Rowling in Harry Potter (hint: Diagon Alley!). Looked in some of the shops along the way and found myself some nice trinkets!
Took a stroll down to Princes Street Garden and walked up the Scott Monument to their third floor viewing platform for picturesque views across Edinburgh city.
Went to Grassmarket square for a meal at the Smallest Pub in Scotland (it really is!).
I felt like a King when I went to Edinburgh Castle, an impressive construction built on rocks since at least the Iron Age. Tip: it can get quite busy around here so I suggest visiting outside of peak hours.
My 2-day trip ended with a rainbow on Arthur’s Seat. Perfection :)

Arthur's Seat: Edinburgh's Summit, Skyline & Scottish Scenery
📍 Arthur's Seat - Edinburgh, Scotland
🏴 One of my favourite places of all time is the majestic and regal city of Edinburgh. Whether you're looking for a dose of history, dose of retail therapy or a dose of scenery, the city has something to offer you. So why not see the whole lot from 800ft high?
👑 Part of the Royal Holyroodhouse Palace's park, Arthur's Seat overlooks the city. It's a moderate climb and I'm not particularly a keen hiker but it was still more than manageable.
🔎 Once at the top, the views are simply breathtaking. On a clear day, you'll spot familiar sights like Edinburgh Castle, the Holyroodhouse Palace and the Royal Mile (Picture 1). You can also glance over to the industrial suburbs that blend in nicely to the sweeping coastline (Picture 2).
🦢 On the way down you'll come across a beautiful miniature piece of water, St. Margaret's Loch (Picture 3) - on a good day you may be lucky enough to spot some swans.
📷 My legs were hurting now after all that walking but I was so glad to have got a delightful glimpse of Edinburgh. The contrasting New Town scenery to the Old Town and Royal Mile delights and the seaside suburbs offer a view that can't be matched from anywhere else in the area.
🍦 Once I reached the bottom of the hill, I looked out closely and could spot an ice cream van - just what I needed! (Picture 4).

Arthur's Seat
This was taken from holyrood by the parliament building. Arthur's seat is an old volcano that hasn't been active for many years. #travel with Taz #edinburgh #travel #naturalwonders #citytours #volcano #arthursseat
Edinburgh “Edinbra” 🏴
I was in Edinburgh for only 2 days which were more than enough to explore the city.
If you want to do other parts of Scotland or the outskirts of Edinburgh then I’d recommend an extra day.
It is November so temperature was low (not recommended for people like me who can’t handle it).

Arthur’s Seat
Arthur’s Seat is an ancient volcano which is the main peak of the group of hills in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Known as “a hill for magnitude, a mountain in virtue of its bold design, you will also see the St Anthony’s Chapel built in the 1940’s .
Definitely a place to enjoy the view and moment!
