We left our hotel room from Kunming to head further south of China in the early morning. After a quick high speed train ride, we arrived at Shilin: home of the magnificent karst formation the locals call stone forests. In front of the station, there were local buses that would bring you directly to the UNESCO world heritage site that was Shilin for 10 yuan. ✨If you find the hour long bus ride too taxing, there are also plenty of taxis willing to transport you back and forth for a faster and more comfortable ride, albeit a lot pricier.✨ Once arrived at Shilin's visitor center, we opted to buy the package entrance tickets, which includes both the entrance fee as well as unlimited shuttle bus rides inside the park. ⚠️ Beware that the actual entrance of the parc is quite far from any of the main attractions!
