Had a little trip to Cologne, Germany. It was my first time in the city and I really liked it! Visited the infamous Cologne cathedral which was beautiful, walked around the city, drank some Kölsch which is typical beer from Cologne, and of course had some currywurst! Also took a day trip to Frankfurt which was only 2 hours away from Cologne with car, but you can also take the train there. As Frankfurt is the financial capital of Germany, we visited the European Central Bank and if you are interested in the stock market, I would recommend visiting the Deutsche Börse, the German stock exchange, which you can visit for free! I highly recommend visiting Goethe’s house in Frankfurt if you have read his books or just like going to museums. They also had several nice art exhibitions there. When in Frankfurt you also have to try the special green sauce that comes with schnitzel, it was delicious! #germany #cologne #colognecathedral #frankfurt

I start with Walking to one of the most beautiful Cathedral in the world and yes! I think it’s one of the most beautiful the Architecture from outside is very stunning, with the details and how big the Cathedral is. And then I walk inside to see the inside architecture and the inside did not disappoint me as well. Besides the crowded crow both in- and outside, I still find this place stunning anyway. Would definitely come back to visit during the Christmas Market again. And I went to the Thai restaurant to get some Thai noodle. #myhiddengems Like many other places in Germany, Cologne is old and very beautiful. There are several points of interest for a tourist in this city. I found the architecture aspect to be absolutely fascinating. Go into any street in the centre and you’ll see glorious lane of architecture, then 19th-century mansions next to 1950s tiled houses and new-builds in steel and glass. Very little feels sacred here, apart from the Romanesque churches and of course, the Dom – Cologne cathedral which mixes in Gothic arches with the pixelated, stained-glass windows. Interestingly, Germany’s largest mosque is in cologne. The Cologne Central Mosque, which is a modern design with its concrete and glass dome and glass walls is a fascinating piece of architecture too. I also managed to see the Ludwig Museum. Built in 1986, few would call its exterior beautiful, but it houses one of Germany’s most significant collections of modern art. If one place sums up Cologne, though, it’s the chapel on nearby Kolumbastrasse. Here, a museum housing religious art has been created from a church that was bombed by the allies. Day trip From Amsterdam to Cologne, take the ICE International train from the Netherlands. No need to change trains. It takes only 2 hours and 40 minutes. We got on at 6.40 in the morning and arrived at 9.20. You can walk around the city very easily. When you leave the train station, you will see the grandeur of the Kölner Dom, the cathedral of Cologne. Stop by to take a picture of the padlock bridge, relax by the river, and stop by the Chocolate Museum. After walking until the evening, we took the ICE train back to Amsterdam at 18.38 and arrived at around 9.30 PM. #cologne #Kölner Dom

We visited Cologne in Germany as a one day trip and marvelled at the city sights.It is one architectural beauty with its high semi gothic structures and but also a fun place to spend time with its chocolate museum with history on cocoa and types of chocolates. It was a great experience to climb the steps of Cologne Cathedral and to see the scenic view of the city with Rhein river crisscrossing the cityscape.Truly mesmerizing in the evening. #celebratewithtrip Köln Dom or Cologne Cathedral is one of the most beautiful cathedrals that I saw in my travels in Europe. The gothic style cathedral is amazingly beautiful and it is worth it to see and visit the place! We went there from Frankfurt by ICE (Inter City Express, german bullet trains). It was about 2 hours train ride. We bought the the 2nd class ticket and it has no big difference with the 1st class ticket in terms of comfortability. The ride was quiet and relaxing! It's not the fish market anymore. It is one of the few remaining parts of Cologne dated back the Middle Ages not far from the beautiful Romanesque St. Martin Church. There are many interesting and colourful old town houses date back to between the 14th and 17th Centuries. Really beautiful part of town. Very colourful indeed. A nice area to have a walk by the Rhine and many coffee shops and restaurants are there. It’s peaceful and quiet and wonderful architecture! I love it!!! This restaurant serves Sichuan, Hunan & other Chinese regional dishes. If you are looking for authentic sichuan food in Cologne this is the ideal place. Located within short walking distance from the Dom. The food was very delicious and the staff very courteous. We had the tofu with century eggs and stir-fry mushroom with pork. We choose less spicy dishes and it’s really tasty. Very large serving and the price is reasonable. Loved the food Loved the service Loved the ambience Highly recommended. The restaurant environment is very good, and the location is spacious (right beside the station) . Although it's called Tang Wang, the menu focuses on Sichuan cuisine. We have craving for soup so we stopped by for our dinner. The food is delicious! The service is good. Its clean. They have various options for vegetarians and vegans. We really had a great experience at this hotel establishment. It is centrally located that has easy access to the trains, cathedral, shops, food, supermarkets, literally everything you want & need from a hotel. The rooms were comfortable. The big lobby was an awesome place to just hang out before the start of the day and at the end of the night. This is because there is an endless supply of free coffee and water. There is additional €16 for the breakfast box if you required. The hotel is centrally located, approximately 500 meters from Cologne Railway station. Wonderful cafe to eat cakes here. The atmosphere is really good, vintage and elegant. The staff is very friendly, kind and hospitality. It is a nice place to come for an afternoon bite with some tea. My husband had a local beer and we ordered 2 slices of cakes. The cakes are super good and the pastries and cakes display is amazing. #cologne #germanytrip #couplestrip

Truly a magnificent piece of architecture, my first impressive view exit from train main station (hbf). It’s huge. There's no entrance fee. The inside has tall, well decorated ceilings. I loved the stained glass windows they were very beautiful. The tower climb is not too arduous, but you do have to climb 533 steps. There is a combo-ticket available for treasury and tower climb, would recommend it. For single ticket it is €6 per pax. Once at the top the views are incredible. The Hohenzollern Bridge is a bridge crossing the river Rhine in the German city of Cologne (German: Köln). It crosses the Rhine at kilometre 688.5. Originally, the bridge was both a railway and road bridge. However, after its destruction in 1945 and its subsequent reconstruction, it was only accessible to rail and pedestrian traffic. Since 2008 padlocks have adorned a fence on the bridge, see all the locks symbolising undying love chained to the bridge. A must on your trip here. It is traditionally believed to hold the remains of the Three Wise Men, whose relics were acquired by Frederick Barbarossa at the conquest of Milan in 1164. Cologne, Germany (Köln) is very close to the Dutch border about two hours drive away and is also the birthplace of Cologne so it is quite worth a day to visit 👍🏻 A must-see attraction must be Cologne Cathedral! It's spectacular when you see it during the day There's another kind of mystery at night 😍 It's free to visit but if you want to climb to the top you have to pay but I suggest you don't climb to the top first because it doesn't have an elevator to walk hundreds of stairs to go up plus I personally think the top floor is nothing special or attractive just feel tired from walking 😂 After visiting the church remember to learn my last photo so standing behind the river have taken pictures 🤣 because the church stood behind the river It's not bad to go for a walk at night and relax! #germany #cologne #koln

#Restaurant Episode #The long-lost boiled fish [Restaurant Cologne, Germany] After walking around the sights, it’s time to treat your stomach. A search on the internet revealed that there are quite a few Asian restaurants in Germany. Finally chose Sichuan cuisine that I haven't eaten in a long time 🔥. The children can't eat spicy food, so I ordered the assorted fried rice for them to eat. However, the Sichuan flavor chicken was served first, because it was not very spicy, the twins couldn't stop eating 😆. The boiled fish is really spicy, it's quite authentic, it's great with rice 👍🏻, if there's sweet potato flour, it would be great 😋. The final bill was €60, which was not very expensive, because I hadn’t had Sichuan cuisine in a long time, so I was very satisfied. Finally, I can't finish the assorted fried rice and have to take it away. I can leave it for supper at night ✌🏻. Sichuan flavored mouth-watering chicken €8.5 Chicken and corn soup €4.9 Boiled fish €24.8 Soft fried bananas €7.20 Assorted Fried Rice $€12.8 White rice €1 After eating, we went to Hohe Str. (shopping street) to shop, but because of Easter eve, many shops were not open🙈, only an ice cream shop and a convenience store. Because there was nothing special to do, we got up early to walk back to the bed and breakfast, so we originally planned to go to Brauhaus FRÜH am Dom beer restaurant to eat pork hands, instead of just drinking beer🍻. German beer is really easy to drink, suitable for ladies😏. Finally I found a big bakery at the intersection, it looked so attractive, I couldn't help but buy a few packages 🥐 back to the bed and breakfast to eat😬. [Attractions in Cologne, Germany] The first day in Belgium was very fulfilling😙, the next day to say goodbye to the beautiful B&B👋🏻, and continue our journey to Germany💨. Rarely come to Germany, want to see the local architecture🛕 and attractions. I chose the city of Cologne, Germany to walk around and eat. Drive 1 and a half hour🚗 from B&B to Cologne. There are several indoor parking lots in Cologne, I chose the one near the attractions and cheaper, €0.60/20 minutes, and ended up parking for 3hrs20mins became €6. After parking, walk a little outside to the Hohenzollern Bridge🌉 (Hohenzollern Bridge), opposite there is a park where you can enjoy the flowers🌸 and take a walk. You could actually step onto the Hohenzollern Bridge, but it was crowded, so I took a picture and left. Go up the stairs further and you will find Cologne Cathedral🕍.
