The Iconic Hong Kong Tram: A Ride Through History
The Hong Kong tramway, affectionately known as the "Ding Ding," is one of the city’s most iconic and charming modes of transport. Operating since 1904, it’s not just a means of getting around but also a moving piece of history.
One of the most fascinating features of these trams is their double-decker design. These two-story trams were introduced to maximize passenger capacity on Hong Kong's narrow and busy streets. They remain the only fully double-decker tram system in the world, offering passengers unique views of the city from the top deck.
Riding the tram is incredibly affordable, with fares averaging just $0.30–$0.50 USD per trip, making it a budget-friendly way to explore. The trams are also known for their bright and colorful exteriors, often wrapped in eye-catching advertisements that add vibrancy to the streets of Hong Kong.
The tram system runs exclusively on the northern side of Hong Kong Island, connecting key districts like Central, Wan Chai, and Causeway Bay. It's not just practical but also environmentally friendly, as it’s entirely powered by electricity.
Hop aboard, grab a seat on the upper deck, and enjoy the slow-paced ride through Hong Kong's bustling streets—it’s a must-try experience that blends tradition with modernity.

🇭🇰The Hari Hong Kong
#chinatrip
The impeccable service coupled with the exceptional design and space of the hotel made our stay an extremely pleasant one! We received a warm welcome by the staff who greeted us nicely and help to lead us to the reception which is at the second floor. The room itself is really nice, clean and delicately designed, quite new compared to other typical hotels you see in Hong Kong. The location is pretty strategic with many attractions and popular food places within walking distance !

Tian Tan Buddha ⭐️ Iconic Big Buddha in Ngong Ping 🇭🇰
#100waysoftravel
The Big Buddha is a large bronze statue of Buddha, completed in 1993, and located at Ngong Ping, Lantau Island, in Hong Kong. If you have watched the famous Hong Kong movie “Infernal Affairs”, you may recognise this iconic place as HK best “fengshui” place🤣
The majestic outdoor bronze Buddha was cast with 250 tonnes of bronze and built over 12 years. You will need to climb the 258 steps to the top if you want to approach it nearer. There is an exhibition inside with air conditioning. The view is stunning from the top too!
I think this is one of the best places to visit in Hong Kong. It’s accessible via the Ngong Ping cable car or bus.

Cute Café with Amazing Views of Victoria Harbour, Tsim Sha Tsui
#localfoodies
📍Cupping Room, Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui
Had a nice cuppa while visiting Harbour City mall that is located at Tsim Sha Tsui. The café is quaint and small, with a few transparent windows in store, offering stunning views of Victoria Harbour. Visiting customers have to get the queue number from the kiosk when the store is full house, very seamless and convenient. We were there on weekends, thus the crowd was huge and we waited for about 20 to 30 minutes for a seat. Definitely worth the wait. Coffee was good, great blend and balance of coffee and milk. Ambiance was lively and happening, great to have a nice little hang out, but the spacing between tables was kinda tight. Overall, instagrammable and cute little café in Harbour City!
