🇻🇳 Speedboat From Ha Tien to Phu Quoc: A Journey Through Hidden Gems & Island Bliss ⛵🏝️"
Instead of taking a direct flight to Phu Quoc, I decided to take the scenic route and make a stop in Ha Tien, a small but charming coastal town near the Cambodian border. Travelers often overlook it, but I found it to be a peaceful retreat with a mix of history, nature, and local culture.
🌿 Exploring Ha Tien – A Hidden Gem
Ha Tien isn’t just a transit point—it has its own charm, with a laid-back vibe and beautiful natural landscapes. One of the highlights of my time here was visiting a mountainous area with caves and pagodas, surrounded by lush greenery and offering spectacular views. While I don’t remember the exact name, the experience of wandering through hidden caves, limestone formations, and ancient temples made it a memorable stop.
After some exploring, I headed to the Ha Tien market to try some of the fresh seafood this region is famous for. The grilled squid and fish were absolutely delicious, and everything was incredibly affordable. Ha Tien’s food scene is underrated—simple but full of flavors.
🚢 Taking the Speedboat to Phu Quoc
From Ha Tien, I boarded a speedboat to Phu Quoc, which took about 1.5 hours. The ride was surprisingly smooth, and watching the coastline fade away while the vast blue waters of the Gulf of Thailand stretched ahead was such a peaceful experience. The ticket prices were reasonable, and the boat was comfortable—definitely a great alternative to flying.
🏝️ Exploring Phu Quoc on Two Wheels
As soon as I arrived, I rented a motorbike (around 150,000-200,000 VND per day)—which, in my opinion, is the best way to explore Phu Quoc. With well-paved roads, scenic coastal views, and little traffic, it was the perfect island adventure.
Here’s what I loved most about Phu Quoc:
✅ Sao Beach & Long Beach – Pristine white sand, crystal-clear water, and peaceful vibes 🌊
✅ Dinh Cau Night Market – A must-visit for fresh seafood, grilled scallops, and local specialties 🦐
✅ Phu Quoc National Park – Lush green jungle roads, ideal for a scenic motorbike ride 🌳
✅ Pepper farms & fish sauce factories – Learning about Phu Quoc’s famous produce was fascinating 🌶️
After a full day of riding around, we ended the night by grabbing a cold drink by the beach, watching the sun slowly disappear into the horizon—a picture-perfect end to the trip.
From mountains and caves in Ha Tien to the island paradise of Phu Quoc, this journey was a perfect mix of adventure, nature, and relaxation. If you’re planning a trip to Phu Quoc, I’d highly recommend taking the boat from Ha Tien and spending a little time exploring this hidden coastal town. It’s worth the stop!
