[Bukhara] My favorite madrasah [Uzbekistan]
There are many beautiful Islamic buildings in Uzbekistan, but I would like to introduce my favorite madrasah 😸
Nadir Divan Begi Madrasah
The mosaics here are so cute that anything you do will look great! (I think) lol
Islam is against idolatry, so it is rare to see animals depicted, but this is a very rare madrasah (theological school) that goes against the teachings of Islam, with two phoenixes, a deer, and a human face depicted 🤓✏️
Unfortunately, I couldn't go inside, probably because I went on a Friday 🥲
*In Islam, Friday is considered the day of collective prayer, so it is often a day off in Islamic countries.
Lyabi Khause Square, the pond in the center of the old town, just opposite the madrasah, is also lovely😍
There are terraces of restaurants around, so it looks like a great place to relax☺️

[Bukhara] Walking around Ark Castle [Uzbekistan]
There are many things to see in Bukhara, Uzbekistan☺️
I'll introduce the area around Ark Castle♪
1.《Ark of Bukhara》
I didn't have time to go inside, but I was glad I could see the exterior😸
The wall surrounding the castle is unusual in that it looks like an upside-down sake cup🏰
2.《Bolo Hauz Mosque》 across from Ark Castle
It was also Friday prayer time, so I couldn't go inside🥲
It has a design called Kaminarimon, mixed with geometric and floral motifs, and is decorated in red, brown, and green, making it a little different from other mosques and wonderful❤️
Friday is the day of collective prayer in Islamic countries, so be careful of places that are closed⚠️
3.《Bukhara Tower》
A bit of a disappointment tower🗼lol
You can climb it, but it costs money!
The area around Ark Castle is about a 10-15 minute walk from the center of Bukhara 🚶➡️Let's take a walk 🎵

[Bukhara] Discover the beauty of Islamic architecture! [Uzbekistan]
Introducing a beautiful and recommended madrasah in Bukhara, Uzbekistan♪
Mir Arab Madrasasi, located in the center of Bukhara
*Madrasa is an Islamic seminary.
A boarding school where students study Islam.
The recommended point is the beauty of the exterior!
Magnificent!
I went first thing in the morning (around 7:30) and in the afternoon, and the way the photos came out was completely different depending on the sunlight.
It was good that there were no people in the morning, so it was easy to take photos😃
In the afternoon, it was full of tourists💦
You can also borrow a hijab when you go inside🧕

[Bukhara] Recommended restaurant with great terrace!
Introducing a recommended restaurant in Bukhara, Uzbekistan♪
《Old Bukhara》🍴
This place has a great view and the interior is cute, so I recommend it❤️
I ate too much at breakfast, so I took a lunch break and ate a little, but I wanted to try other things🤤lol
The tableware in Uzbekistan is really cute, and this restaurant was cute too😻
Uzbek beer Sarbast is 25,000 USZ (about 300 yen)
*The color of the two beers is slightly different because I ordered lite and special!
Uzbekistan is unusual for a region with a large Muslim population, and is tolerant of alcohol🍻
So you can drink beer even during the day😉
Including mantu, the total was 86,250 UZS.
(Approx. 1,040 yen in Japanese yen / rate as of November 2024)
*15% service charge applies

[Bukhara] Beautiful Islamic architecture [Uzbekistan]
I'm sure you're all familiar with the term "mosque," but perhaps you're not familiar with the term "medrassa."
I had no idea what it was until I went to Uzbekistan.
A madrasah is a seminary that provides higher education in theology, law, and other subjects in the Islamic world. 🧐
There are many such beautiful seminaries in Uzbekistan. 🇺🇿
Two of them are in Bukhara: Abdulaziz Khan Madrasah and Ulugbek Madrasasi. 🍀
These two are built facing each other. ♪
Islamic architecture in Bukhara often uses blue and white colors, but Abdulaziz Khan Madrasah uses warm colors, which makes it a little different. ❤️
It's really beautiful...!
We went around 8 o'clock before it got crowded with tourists, so neither was open, and it's unclear whether you can enter normally. 🙏
There's probably a local cat in front of the entrance. There were a few cats that were fed and they were so cute 😻

[Bukhara] A city that is still unknown to Japanese people [Uzbekistan]
I went to Bukhara, Uzbekistan, a city that is still unknown to Japanese people.
The recommended spots are
Kalon Mosque and Kalon Minaret
A beautiful mosque in Poikaron Square 🕌
Admission fee: 15,000 UZS (about 180 yen at the current rate as of November 2024)
Women must wear a cloth on their head when entering!
(Hair must be hidden)
I had a stole, so I wrapped one around myself 🍀 But don't worry, even if you don't have one, you can borrow one for free ♪
The detailed decorations inside were beautiful ❤️
I went on Friday,
In Islam, Friday is the day of collective prayer, and there are other mosques that you can't enter, but I was able to enter this one 😃

[Bukhara] Stylish hotel [Uzbekistan]
I saw the picture and thought it was cute, so I stayed at this hotel
and it was a great choice 😻
《AL-Hayat Bukhara Hotel》
•The location is good👍 you can walk to the tourist spots.
•There are many kinds of breakfast🍳
There are many sweet dishes, so it's hard to choose!
I actually wanted to eat more, but I gave up because I was full 🤤
•The hotel is stylish! It looks great 😻
•The best part is the hospitality of the staff 👏
I had a little problem, but the hotel manager was very kind and helped me 🍀
I only stayed for one night, but I wanted to stay longer.
The hotel itself is wonderful and highly recommended❤️

Bukhara: A fascinating ancient city with a long history
Bukhara was once the capital of the Bukhara Khanate.
The bazaar was a bustling city that was a must-see for shoppers. In particular, the various embroidered suzani are wonderful works of art that are filled with the aesthetic sense and skill of the local people.
Cushion covers were available for around USD10 (as of 2023), so if you go, be sure to look for a nice suzani as a souvenir!
Have a nice trip 🧳
[Transportation] ☀︎It is about 2 hours by high-speed train from Samarkand. I bought the train ticket directly online from the company that operates the Uzbekistan Railway 🎫
☀︎Taxis are not allowed in the old town of Bukhara, so I often took vehicles like tuk-tuks 🛵
[Hotel] I stayed at Mercure Bukhara Old Town. The food at the restaurant here and the service of the staff were amazing!

Uzbekistan: Sultan's Palace
The palaces of the sultans of Uzbekistan are not crowded, but they are worth seeing, and I personally think they are hidden gems, so I hope this will be helpful for your travels☺️
☀︎Nurlaboy Palace (Khiva) About 10 minutes walk from Ichan Kala. The chandeliers, carpets, and the colors and designs of the walls are gorgeous, so I took many photos lol There were also paintings, ethnic costumes, and jewelry, so it was worth seeing, so I personally highly recommend it🥳
☀︎Sitlay Mahi Khosa Palace (Bukhara) A Russian-style palace about 15 minutes by taxi from the center of Bukhara. What surprised me here was that there were many peacocks walking leisurely in the palace gardens. The colorful walls of the palace were also very beautiful. There was also Japanese pottery! If you have time, please try to go from Bukhara☺️

This town was an oasis on the Silk Road.

All of the buildings were large and impressive.

[Uzbekistan] A whirlwind 3-night, 5-day tour including the Blue City of Samarkand
⚫︎I visited Tashkent-Samarkand-Bukhara (Samarkand was my base), but the best way to travel between the cities is by train!
⚫︎Daytime flights sell out quickly, but there are openings at the last minute, so it's better to reserve a flight that's available and check frequently until the last minute → cancel the ticket you already have if you can secure one! (There is a cancellation fee, but it's only a few hundred yen... on the day? If it's right before the trip, you can only process it at the counter, so be careful!)
May is said to be the best season for sightseeing.
There are many sunny days and the scenery is very beautiful, but during the day
it is hot enough to cause heatstroke, and the sun is strong.
Be sure to prepare a hat, parasol, hat to block direct sunlight, water, etc.
Also, the food is delicious, but it uses a lot of oil, so it tends to make you feel heavy... Be careful if you have a weak stomach.
Be sure to prepare well and enjoy Uzbekistan! #Trip to Uzbekistan
