A free foot bath in Kinugawa Onsen ♨️ Kinuta no Yu
When I went to Kinugawa Onsen, I went to Kinuta no Yu, a free foot bath in front of the station!!!
The name comes from the statue of Kinuta, the character of Kinugawa Onsen, and it is a popular tourist spot because it is located in front of the station!!!
I went in on a weekday evening, and there were always 2-3 people in it, which shows how popular it is👀
Since it is in front of the station, it seems that many people go in while waiting for the train~
I also soothed my tired feet while waiting for the Spacia on the way home🤤
The temperature was around 40-41 degrees, which was just the right temperature for a comfortable bath.
⚠️There are no towels to rent, so be sure to remember to wait, so be careful!

Kinugawa: Recommended for girls' trips and couples' trips
After passing through the entrance,
it's a special experience to climb up the slope car in the middle of nature 😳✨
The lush courtyard on the hill is charming and
the extraordinary space was wonderful...!
The lounge was lined with colorful traditional Mashiko ware plates
I couldn't help but want to buy some to take home 😌
You can enjoy strawberries and Japanese sweets from Tochigi in your room
The "Strawberry Late-Night Snack" 🍓 is limited to two sets per day
so you must make a reservation early ✍️
The courtyard is very spacious and it feels good to take a walk in the morning or after a bath!
It was a relaxing inn where you can enjoy the beautiful seasons from the terrace of your room 😌♨️

[Spring in Tochigi ②] Ashikaga Flower Park and nearby spots you should visit🚶♀️
When talking about springtime Kanto sightseeing spots, Ashikaga Flower Park is surely what springs to mind for many!
If you're going all the way to Ashikaga, why not check out some nearby spots?
My recommendation is Ashikaga School and Hōō-ji Temple, located at Ashikaga Station, the station next to Ashikaga Flower Park Station!
Ashikaga School, said to be the oldest school in Japan, and Hōō-ji Temple, which has a history dating back to the Kamakura period.
Both are tranquil tourist spots where you can feel the history and culture of Ashikaga City.
At Ashikaga School, there is a shoin study and garden where warlords are said to have come to study, and time flows quietly.
The documents and buildings that convey the spirit of Confucianism are well worth seeing.
The neighboring Hōō-ji Temple is a prestigious temple built on the site of the Ashikaga clan's residence, and is impressive for its appearance surrounded by the national treasure main hall, a large ginkgo tree, and a moat. Although it is a tourist spot, the calm atmosphere, which feels like an extension of everyday life, will soothe your mind.
Both are within walking distance, so it's great to take a leisurely stroll around the city.
🚃 Access
・Ashikaga School: About 10 minutes on foot from JR Ryomo Line "Ashikaga Station"
・Bannaji Temple: About 3 minutes on foot from Ashikaga School
・Ashikaga School: Admission fee 420 yen (adults)
・Bannaji Temple: Free to visit (separate fee for special openings such as the main hall)
・Time required: Each takes about 30 minutes to 1 hour to visit
There are also many stylish cafes and Japanese sweets shops in Ashikaga City nearby, making it perfect for a stroll! ☕️
Please consider these as your Golden Week outing destinations☺️

[Spring in Tochigi] Amazing! Ashikaga Flower Park 💐
Speaking of spring in Tochigi,
Ashikaga Flower Park is the place to go!
The beautiful wisteria trellis, recognized worldwide, looks like purple curtains falling from the sky.
A wide variety of wisteria, including large wisteria, double wisteria, white wisteria, and yellow ikibana wisteria, bloom in full glory, overwhelming the viewer.
The wisteria is refreshing and elegant in the daytime sunlight, and transforms into a fantastic and romantic atmosphere when lit up at night.
It's truly a flower theme park that you can enjoy all day long.
The famous wisteria soft serve ice cream, which you often see on social media, is available right after entering from the main entrance, so I bought and ate it, but after that it was sold everywhere, so you may not need to rush to buy it at the main entrance...🍦
That's because if you buy it at the west entrance, you can take a great shot of the large wisteria and the soft serve ice cream (you can take a picture of the wisteria and the soft serve together)📷
So I recommend buying it at the west entrance! 🍦📷
Access🚃
About a 3-minute walk from Ashikaga Flower Park Station on the JR Ryomo Line.
Easy access from the city center, about an hour and a half by train from Tokyo.
The best time to see the wisteria is usually from mid-April to mid-May.
It will be especially crowded during Golden Week, so it is recommended to go early in the morning on a weekday or at night when the lights are on.
It's a must-visit spot for those who want to be soothed by the beauty of nature, as well as for taking great photos on social media.

Perfect for the coming hot season! A cool spot like an ancient ruins 🎐
I went to the Oya Museum, which has been used as a location for many movies, dramas, and music videos, including Cells at Work, Fly Me to Saitama, and Rurouni Kenshin!!!
*Visited in October 2023.
I had wanted to go to the Oya Museum someday after watching the movie Rurouni Kenshin, so I was very happy to be able to visit 🤤
Here you can see the characteristics of Oya stone, the mining method, and a reproduction of the mining process!!!
Even though it's stone, it seems that it was carved by hand in the past...
The hand-carving process was reproduced using dolls, and I felt the greatness of humans... 😳
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
✔️Recommended points~~~~~~~~~~~~~
⚫︎Learn about the history of Oya stone while getting excited about its appearance like an ancient ruin!
⚫︎Enjoy it as a location for your favorite movies and dramas!
*Some of the locations actually used for filming are off-limits areas, so you will need to enjoy it only in areas that are accessible!
⚫︎It's cool even in summer, so it's a great spot to cool down on hot days🎐
〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜
✔️Points to note
〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜〜
⚫︎It's very cold, so it's better to bring something to put on in summer🙆♀️
⚫︎The ground is a little wet and not flat, so it's better to wear flat shoes such as sneakers that are not slippery🫶
※It's definitely better to avoid heels😇
If you're traveling to Tochigi, be sure to visit!!!
A walk along the Kuranomachi promenade
#0yentravelFebruary2025
Tochigi City, Tochigi Prefecture, has been a post town on the Nikko Reibeishi Kaido road since the Edo period.
It was also a commercial city in northern Kanto as a wholesale town that prospered through boat transport during the Edo period.
Even now, the banks of the Uwa River that flows through the city and the main street of Kuranomachi are still lined with heavy black-painted storehouses and white-walled storehouses.
The storehouses are said to be among the oldest in Japan.
This is a record of a leisurely stroll along the charming walking path along the Kuranomachi street, feeling the history.
The "Kamakura Festival", a winter tradition at Yunishigawa Onsen, is a winter-only event that I've always wanted to go to.
"Mini Kamakura at Sawaguchi Riverbed" certified as a Japanese Night View Heritage
On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during the period, hundreds of mini kamakura will be lit with candles, creating a fantastical world.
Mini igloos are lined up at the Heike no Sato site,
and at night they are lit with candles, warmly lighting up the whole village.
When I went this time, I thought I would be able to enter all of the mini igloos.
But no way? I didn't expect the area to be so small...
It's a shame that it's only held on weekends, when there are a lot of people.
It's almost impossible to get a photo without people in it,
and it was quite difficult to take a photo of the mini igloo in the foreground and the igloo under the riverbed together.
Tochigi Moka: White Snake Benzaiten
This shrine is located in Moka City, Tochigi Prefecture, about a 10-minute walk from Moka Railway's Kugeda Station.
According to the shrine's records, it is said that the deity was divided from Miyajima in Aki and enshrined in the current Koikegafuchi in the 2nd year of Daiei (1522).
It is believed that washing money with the sacred water from the waterfall, which springs from deep underground beneath the main shrine, will increase financial luck, bring prosperity in business, and even heal illnesses.
📍 Be careful as the road in front of the shrine is narrow.
📍 The first parking lot next to the shrine is small.
📍 There are three parking lots available.
[Tochigi Kurobane Castle Ruins Park]
#FuritabiWinter
Located in Otawara City, this castle was built by Ozeki Takamasu in 1575, and is the largest in northern Nasu.
In the Battle of Sekigahara, Ozeki Takamasu sided with the Eastern Army, and was granted an additional stipend by Tokugawa Ieyasu, making him a feudal lord with 18,000 koku of rice.
The current castle ruins, including the earthworks, dry moats, and water moats, are preserved, and traces of the time remain.
From the remains of the main citadel, you can see the Nasu and Nikko mountain ranges in one view, with the Nakagawa River flowing below.
In April, there is a cherry blossom festival, and from late June to early July, 6,000 hydrangeas bloom, so you can enjoy seasonal flowers.
The Kurobane Hydrangea Festival is particularly famous, and many people visit the park.
