Aurora hunting in Yellowknife
#Yellowknife
Aurora Village
Most visitors to Yellowknife who come to see the Northern Lights will use this facility.
We visited three times and were able to see the Aurora Borealis on all three occasions!
We were especially moved by the mysterious aurora borealis that appeared overhead at the end of the second day.
The Aurora Village is located in an aboriginal settlement 30-40 minutes by bus from the city of Yellowknife, where there are no strong lights around, making it easy to view the aurora borealis.
Visitors can wait in tents called "teepees" until the Aurora Borealis appears. Inside there is a wood stove, hot drinks, and tables and chairs to rest freely.☕️
It was a wonderful experience. Anyone who wants to see the Northern Lights at least once in their lifetime should definitely go!

The lovely hotel as a base for Aurora hunting

Chateau Nova Yellowknife
I went to Yellowknife for Aurora hunting.☃️
I am a cold person, and having a large bathtub was an absolute must, so I decided to stay at this hotel.
It can get down to -30 degrees Celsius in December in Yellowknife, so it was a good choice to have a comfortable room with a bathtub.🛁
Although the hotel was a little further from downtown than the other major hotels, it was the closest to the Aurora Village and the airport, and was convenient in terms of the timetable for pickup and drop-off.
From the window of our room, we could see the snowy landscape all around.❄️
I loved drinking matcha latte, which I brought from Japan, by the window every morning.
By the way, the room is quite warm as it is well heated!

📍Yellowknife🇨🇦 Diamond Centre
This time, I'll be introducing tourist spots in Yellowknife, Canada again!
Did you know that Yellowknife is actually famous for diamonds?
It seems that there is a diamond mine in Yellowknife, and there is a facility called the Diamond Center that exhibits and sells diamonds, so I went there!
The second photo shows the process of diamonds being polished.
I didn't know that they were cloudy at first like the top left!
As they are polished, they become the familiar sparkling diamonds shown on the bottom right.
The third photo shows a diamond polishing machine.
It's great to just visit here as a tourist.
I didn't buy anything, but just enjoyed the exhibits!

📍🇨🇦Yellowknife Provincial Parliament Building
Today I'll be introducing a tourist spot in Yellowknife, Canada!
This is the state parliament building of the Northwest Territories, where Yellowknife is located.
When I went, even the general public could enter without a reservation!
However, I went before COVID-19, so please check what the situation is now before you go!
I was able to see this state parliament building, the parliament building, but...
Please take a look at the second photo!
There's a polar bear in the middle of the parliament building!
I've been to many state parliament buildings, but this was my first time seeing a polar bear!

Spectacular Aurora in Yellowknife
I went to Yellowknife, Canada for 3 nights and 4 days from February 12th.
It was cloudy on the first day, but the aurora on the second day was spectacular.
I was able to see it for a little while on the third day.
I joined a HIS tour from Yellowknife Airport without an air ticket, and the cost including the hotel was about 120,000 yen. I used Trip.com for the air ticket, which was 50,000 yen round trip (from Toronto, Canada).
I wonder if it costs about 200,000 yen from Japan.
I added dog sledding to the HIS tour, and it was very worth it.
For a total of about 200,000 yen, I was able to have a trip that will be a lifelong memory.
It's a bit far from the airport to the hotel because of the snow, so I recommend joining a tour.
