When in Singapore… Say Hi to the Spitting Lion
Day wouldn’t be complete without visiting the legendary Merlion Park!
He’s half lion, half fish, and 100% done with tourists pretending to drink his fountain water. 😆💧
Stood there like:
📸 “Quick, take the photo before someone else steals the spot!”
🥵 “Why is it so hot?”
🧭 “Wait… is that Marina Bay Sands over there??”
🌊 “I just got misted. Blessed by the Merlion.”
It’s touristy, it’s iconic, and honestly… it’s a must.
Leaving with a camera roll full of awkward angles and one slightly soggy shirt. Worth it.

🇸🇬One of the Merlion hides here🦁Picturesque too
Here's one of the six Merlion statues hidden in Singapore.
.
Mount Faber is a picturesque hill in Singapore, offering stunning panoramic views of the city skyline, Sentosa Island, and the harbor. Located in the Central Region, it stands at about 105 meters high and is a popular spot for both tourists and locals alike. The hill is accessible by road or cable car, with the latter providing a scenic journey across the harbor.
.
Apart from its breathtaking views, Mount Faber is also steeped in history. It was named after Captain Charles Edward Faber, an engineer who played a significant role in the development of the early infrastructure in Singapore. Today, it is a green oasis in the midst of the urban landscape, with lush greenery and walking trails for visitors to explore.
.
Singapore is home to six Merlion statues, with one of them located at Merlion Park near Mount Faber. The Merlion is a mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish, symbolizing Singapore's origins as a fishing village and its lion-like strength. The Merlion at Merlion Park is one of the most iconic landmarks in Singapore, standing at 8.6 meters tall and spouting water from its mouth into the harbor.
.
The other five Merlion statues are located in different parts of Singapore, each with its own unique design and setting. These statues are popular attractions for tourists, offering a glimpse into Singapore's history and culture. Together, they represent Singapore's rich heritage and its transformation from a humble fishing village to a bustling metropolis.

Majulah! Onward to Merlion Park
#springitinerary
Starting from Fullerton Bay Hotel, we marched onwards like Singapore's motto. Along the way we see along Clifford pier the site where Mahatma Gandhi's ashes where immersed. An interesting sight which contains immense historical significance. Further along on the right, the Window of Hope sculpture that commemotates the early settler's landing on Collyer Quay. Few more steps we arrive at Merlion Park, where a lot of thirsty people say Ahhh! Kidding aside, the Merlion, ever facing forward serves as a symbol of Singapore's can do attitude and always moving forward against all odds. The trip also reflects what was before and what Singapore is now and in the future with the Merlion statue's view being surrounded by towering skyscrapers and the magnificent bays.
