A Gentle Walk Through Odawara – Castles, Coastlines & Sunset Calm
#cityplaybook
Just an hour or so from Tokyo, Odawara is a refreshing escape where history and sea breeze come together. It’s not a place to rush through—it’s a place to stroll, pause, and soak in the quiet charm.
I started my day at Odawara Castle, where white walls and sweeping views offer a glimpse into the city’s samurai past. The castle grounds are peaceful, especially in the morning, with pine trees and stone paths that invite you to wander slowly.
Later, I made my way down to Miyukinohama Beach. It’s not crowded or loud—just waves rolling in, families walking by, and the salty air to clear your mind.
As the sun began to dip, I stayed by the water to watch the sky turn golden. The sunset over the sea here feels extra special—calm, spacious, and quietly beautiful.
Why I recommend Odawara:
・It’s the perfect balance of history and nature, all within walking distance
・The sunset by the sea makes for the ideal ending to a peaceful day

A Slow Stroll Through Sakai – Roses, Sea Breeze & Local Charm
#cityplaybook
If you’re looking to escape the crowds and enjoy a more peaceful side of Osaka, Sakai City is a hidden gem worth exploring. With beautiful parks, breezy seaside spots, and a calm, local feel, it’s perfect for a relaxing day out.
I started my walk at Hamadera Park, especially lovely when the rose garden is in bloom. The colors, the scent, the slow pace—everything felt just right.
From there, I headed to Ohama Park, where you can breathe in the ocean air and stretch out under big blue skies. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to sit down, watch the waves, and do absolutely nothing for a while.
I finished the day at Sakai Port, where fishing boats bob in the water and time seems to move just a little slower. No big landmarks, no rush—just a lovely, quiet vibe that stays with you.
Why I recommend Sakai:
・It’s full of nature and quiet beauty, just outside the bustle of Osaka
・A great place to take things slow and enjoy the everyday charm of a coastal town

Sheringham Park, Norfolk – A Hidden Gem of the North Norfolk Coast
#cityplaybook
Tucked away in the tranquil countryside near the North Norfolk coastline, Sheringham Park is a breathtaking National Trust property that deserves a spot on every nature lover’s travel list. I stumbled upon this place almost by accident on a spring road trip—and honestly, I’ve been recommending it ever since.
What struck me most was the sheer scale and variety of landscapes. Designed by Humphry Repton, this historic park is a mosaic of wildflower meadows, rolling woodlands, and rhododendron-lined pathways that burst into color each spring. If you’re lucky enough to visit between late April and early June, you're in for a spectacular show—the rhododendrons and azaleas are in full bloom, turning every corner into a painter’s palette of pinks, purples, and fiery oranges.
Climbing the viewing towers is a must—especially the Gazebo Tower, which offers panoramic views across the park and out toward the North Sea. On a clear day, you can even see the wind turbines off the coast. The trails are well marked and vary in length, making them suitable for casual strollers and seasoned hikers alike. I particularly enjoyed the White Trail, which winds through some of the most scenic parts of the estate.
There’s a welcoming café near the visitor centre and plenty of peaceful spots for a picnic. And yes, Sheringham Park is dog-friendly, so it’s a great option if you're traveling with your four-legged friend.
Best time to visit? Spring, hands down. That’s when the rhododendrons are in bloom and the wildlife is at its most active. But autumn brings its own charm with golden foliage and misty trails.
Bonus Tip: Sheringham Park is just a short drive from Sheringham town and easily accessible via the A148. Parking is available, and free for National Trust members.

Ulleungdo in Spring: Korea’s Hidden Paradise
Ulleungdo is one of Korea’s least explored gems, and that’s what makes it so special—mostly untouched and insanely beautiful. Spring here is next-level, with bright yellow canola fields and perfect coastal walks in breezy weather. And the water? Easily the clearest I’ve seen in Korea.
Things to know before you go:
✅ Bring enough cash—ATMs are rare.
✅ Public transport? Super limited. Plan ahead.
✅ Weather can be unpredictable, so ferry delays happen. Might feel like a hassle, but trust me, this spring paradise is 100% worth it.

If you’re exploring South Australia and crave a wild, windswept coastline full of surprises — Basham Beach Conservation Reserve is the place to be. I came for the rugged beauty and crashing waves… and stayed longer than planned because a curious little seal popped up on the rocks like a local celeb!
This place is raw, real, and peaceful. The mix of granite boulders and wide ocean views makes it perfect for mindful walks, coastal photography, or just sitting still and letting the sea do its magic.

Charlestown Harbour 🗺️
#myhiddengems
Charlestown Harbour in Cornwall is a real treasure! 🌊 This charming, historic harbor in the quaint village of Charlestown was a highlight of my trip. The entrance to the harbor itself is free, but there’s a small fee of around £6 if you want to explore the shipwreck museum, which I highly recommend. The museum is filled with fascinating maritime artifacts and stories of the area’s rich seafaring history. 🚢
Strolling around the harbor, I admired the classic tall ships and the beautiful Georgian architecture. 🏛️ The views of the coast are simply stunning, especially at sunset. 🌅 For a relaxing afternoon, you can enjoy a meal at one of the lovely pubs or cafes overlooking the harbor. 🍽️ Nearby, you’ll find the Eden Project, a short drive away, which offers incredible biomes and gardens. 🌿
If you enjoy coastal walks, the South West Coast Path offers breathtaking views and is perfect for a scenic hike. 🌾 Charlestown Harbour’s blend of history, natural beauty, and charm makes it a must-visit destination in Cornwall! #trip #CharlestownHarbour #Cornwall #HistoricHarbor #CoastalWalks #TravelBritain
