Birthday spent at HaiDiLao Grand Indonesia was quite fun. We were served by very friendly and funny waitress, Yolanda. She prepared gifts and surprises for my early birthday celebration. Instead of giving me fruits cake like in Singapore, she gave me ice cream. My friends and I were talking in Chinese with manager from China called Amber, then she gave us free milk tea. In the end, they also gave me simple present which include photo frame and some snacks. We can also printed out photo for free from the machine in front of the store. Indonesian people are friendly and super loud. I was quite shock and ashamed. But my friends said it's normal. I enjoy the service here. We ordered so much but ended up paying $150 for 4 people. The most hype place currently in Jakarta located at North side, near Pantai Indah Kapuk area. Pancoran PIK is like peranakan style food court and worship place. There is a huge pagoda & Kwan Im. In the centre also have another God which I'm not really sure who&/what type of God. The food here mostly came from Singapore, including beach road curry rice, din tai fung, ya kun kaya toast, and others. But further down there are also stalls selling local food. I bought the gado gado, it was quite nice but expensive. One plate is for $5, almost similar like Singapore price. Went back to Singapore by Jetstar Airways from terminal 3 Soekarno Hatta International Airport. Gate located further down, far away from immigration. It's gate 1 at very corner of the airport, so I have time to look around while walking towards the gate. Many shops close, but you can buy general items here, including food and medicine although price will be way more expensive. Found this marugame udon before flying back to Singapore. It's the food that I can eat with warm soup options, although I don't like udon but thankfully they also have rice and soup! Total cost for this meal is Rp112,000+ which is around SG$11 without drink. Beef bowl rice, egg tempura, and chicken meatball soup. Additional add on for free flow tea is available for Rp15,000 or SG$1.5; but I don't feel like having tea and brought my own water already. Here you are allowed to bring outside food unlike other places, they are more flexible as long as we ordered food from them. Terminal 3 is the newest terminal for international flights departure and arrival. It has so many pictures and arts along the long walkway towards immigration clearance after alighting. The pictures and arts display Indonesia culture from all over province. Clearance process now is very easy without PCR or ART test, showing notarise vaccination is enough. However, your device may not work in Indonesia unless if you report it (for tax purposes), the officer will activate and allow your phone to be used with local tourist sim card that is valid for 30 days. But, if you are going to use your own sim card, you may do so and activate roaming function (might be expensive). Do not expect much on kempinski. It's not a good swimming pool. It wasn't an infinity pool but can be one if you focus on the view of building behind. Located at 17th floor, the pool offered 2 options: normal with cold water as deep as 1.6m; and the very warm one jaccuzi type 0.8m deep. Jaccuzi water is super hot but water flow quite good. Inside bathroom facilities also have 2 type of jaccuzi, cold and warm, changing room, shower, toilet and sauna. Not a bad facility right? Didn't go to gym but it seems like the equipments are old. Short business trip to Jakarta turn out to be a surprise from friends and lady in red. Didn't know that they put a note as celebrating my upcoming birthday. Kempinski Jakarta is located at the central area surrounded by shopping malls and hotels around. It show the "bundaran HI", symbolic place of Jakarta. The hotel is connected with huge Grand Indonesia shopping mall which offer cheaper foods than the one opposite, Plaza Indonesia. I saw a lot of foreigners staying and exploring around the mall here. Plaza Indonesia have more international branded shops. Note that there is no extra amenities provided regardless of your GHA status here.
