Piz Nair is the most accessible mountain near the town of St. Moritz. You can take a cable car from behind the town hall straight to the summit, which stands at an elevation of 3,057 meters. The journey takes just 30 minutes, or you can opt for a hiking adventure. Next to the cable car station is the famous photo spot featuring the Piz Nair Goat. This bronze statue of an Alpine goat stands proudly at the peak, overlooking the snowy valleys with an impressive presence. Almost every visitor rushes to take a photo with it as soon as they step off the cable car. The Piz Nair Goat is like a celebrity, making the experience quite amusing. St. Moritz is renowned as a winter skiing destination, and most of the people at the cable car station are European and American visitors heading to ski. Above the cable car station, there is a panoramic restaurant and café where you can enjoy stunning views of St. Moritz and its surrounding areas, such as the Engadin Valley, which is vast and magnificent—truly breathtaking.

Located in southeastern Switzerland, St. Moritz is a renowned resort destination situated at an altitude of 1,856 meters. Nestled in a wide valley surrounded by the Bernina mountain range, it enjoys abundant sunshine year-round. In addition to winter skiing, Lake St. Moritz (Sankt Moritzersee) is a top tourist attraction, offering breathtaking views of jewel-like alpine scenery. Lake St. Moritz, formed by glacial erosion, is relatively small, and a leisurely walk around the lake takes about an hour on easy trails. Visitors can also take a boat ride to admire the expansive mountain landscapes. During winter, the lake freezes over and has hosted two Winter Olympics as well as thrilling snow polo matches on its icy surface.

We started our walk from St. Moritz train station, following the lakeside path into the town center. Due to the snow, some parts of the road were very muddy and slushy, but wearing snow boots made walking quite manageable! A walk around the lake is something you shouldn't miss. If this doesn't make you feel good, nothing will. On clear days, the environment here is truly ethereal, with the reflection of the snowy mountains mirrored in the clear, calm lake. The scenery at sunset is serene. Remember to bring your camera, as every corner by the lake offers a perfect photo opportunity!
