Trip Moments Recommendations
China is now visa-free. Let's go visit the Great Wall of China.
When China has a "free visa", what are you waiting for? Let's go and visit China.
The first place I wanted to visit and see with my own eyes was the "Great Wall of China".
Yes, we chose to visit the Mutianyu Pass because it was not far from Beijing. It only took about 1.5 hours to get there.
Travel: We chose to use the mubus booking service via trip.com. It was very easy and convenient.
Before the day of the trip, a guide would chat with us on WeChat to inform us of the time and place to get on the bus. We chose the 8 am round trip.
Meeting place: Subway line 2 Dongzhimen station, Exit B1. You will find a guide wearing a red suit waiting.
The round-trip mubus service does not include the cost to go up the Great Wall of China. There are packages to choose from.
Mutianyu Pass has 2 sides: the east side and the west side. You can choose one side or both sides. The service fee is 140¥. You can pay the guide on the bus.
Food: There is also a buffet service from mubus. Or you can choose not to because there are restaurants such as Burger King and Subway open at the pass.
We chose to go up on the east side only because the highlight of this side is the Toboggan, a slide car. It was so much fun.
When we went at the end of March, the weather was cool and comfortable but still sunny. There weren't many people and it was very empty.

HOW TO SEE AN EMPTY GREAT WALL OF CHINA?
We accidentally saw a pretty much empty Great Wall of China! 🇨🇳
🚨TOP TIPS:
- Go in September (not July/August or on any public holidays)
- Go on a Tuesday (as the Forbidden City is closed on a Monday, a lot of people flock there on Tuesdays, making the Great Wall empty!)
- Go to the Mutiyanu section
- Book a tour, we went with #mubus
We did the cable car up and the toboggan down! It was so fun. Highly recommend.

The Great Wall in Mutianyu!
🚌 I visited the Great Wall at Mutianyu. I went with a company called Mubus. They were amazing! For 150rmb, they provided a bus to and from the Great Wall, as well as covered ticket prices for entry. For additional costs, you can choose to toboggan down the wall!
🎋 I went in early March, which I highly recommend. It was quiet and still, allowing for perfect pictures and a much more laid back experience. While you may not have the lush greenery that surrounds the Great Wall during the summer months, there were many upsides to going off season. In addition to it being less crowded, it was also much cooler than it would be in the summer.
✨ The Great Wall really is so special and I am so happy I got to see it and hike it. This piece of history is so amazing!

Getting There - Take a tour through Trip.com app with Mubus Company.
Attractions - Great Wall of China
Hotels - There are a lot of options it depends on how much you are willing to spend. Just take one next to the train stations. I took one just next to the Beijing Railway Station so it’s really easy to move around the city and airport.
Food & Restaurants - I took the tour from Mubus with meal and absolutely worth it.
