Getting Lost in Color: A Day in Balat, Istanbul
If you ever dreamed of stepping inside a rainbow, let me tell you — Balat-Fener is your dream come true!
Hidden away from Istanbul’s busy tourist spots, this charming neighborhood feels like a magical world of its own, with rows and rows of brightly painted houses in every color you can imagine. Pink, yellow, turquoise, mint green — it’s like the buildings had a color party and everyone was invited!
Wandering through the cute little streets, I couldn’t stop smiling. Every corner felt like a movie set, with vintage balconies, cobblestone alleys, and cute cafés just begging for a coffee break (and of course, a mini photo shoot!).
There’s a real warmth here — locals waving hello, kids playing soccer, fresh laundry fluttering between the houses like flags.
Balat-Fener isn’t just beautiful — it’s full of soul, color, and life.
If you're in Istanbul, this place is an absolute must-see!#Balat #Fener #istanbul #magic_istanbul #turkey #solofemaletraveler #solofemaletravel

Hike and pray 🙏🌈😍
Inside the infamous Quanhu park lies Mt. Khongshan.
Mt. Khongshan is one of the featured scenic areas inside the park.
Its not too high to climb but its high.
It took me 45mins to hike up.
At the bottom of it, there is another pathway, going to these altar. Just a little bit of hike and when you get to the platform, there's a God in the cave. Believed to be a protecting God, patrons get their red ribbons (not buying, just give donations) then offer prayer to the God in the cave.
Quanhu park is located in Guanshanhe rd, Guiyang district, Guizhou.
Free entrance for Quanhu park as it is a people's park.
Operation Hours: 9am - 6pm

Shubo park
As i was on my way out the Guizhou Provincial Museum, i saw a small park outside it. Just infront the Guizhou Children's library. It's called SHUBO PARK. Very quaint and pretty little park in the middle of all these huge buildings. There is a little serene pond, where in you can cross on the other side of the park through skipping onto those big rocks in the middle of the pond. The park is surrounded by greenery and flowers. It is a good location for photo shoot as i saw from the patrons in the park. And as the millenials says, very instagramable. ✌️❤️🍀
Location: Guanshanhu rd, Guiyang District, Guizhou
Open park.✌️

Pump up your adrenalin rush! 😉
Bucket list item number 13 and 14, checked!
Wanted to try out to cross a hanging bridge and to try out to do the zip line.
I was hesitant at first, but the quest for adventure will be incomplete if i wont do these stuffs. So i did it. 😂❤️🤟
Tianhetan offers both adrenalin-rush activities.
Cross that super steep and skinny hanging bridge at the end of the Kongling cave scenic spot. The bridge was really shaky... plus my knees were shaky too... hahaha
The zip line is 400meter length of distance from one mountain to the other end. How high it is from the ground? i'm not sure but it was really high. While you're flying, you will see the lushious greenery of the park.
Admission for the hanging bridge and zip line is 40rmb (aside from the 80rmb entrance for Tianhetan park)
Give it a try. i had an awesome time there! ❤️

my home for 6 nights! 😍👍😏
after 6 months straight working, finally i had the chance to go on holiday!
i chose to go to Guizhou ( 5 hours speed train travel from Shenzhen where i reside). And i booked a 7 days, 6 nights stay at this gorgeous hotel in downtown Guiyang from trip. The hotel is called Fairfield by Marriot in Guanshanhu.
One word. CLEAN!
It is really clean. And the decor is very minimalist. Very pleasant to my eyes. The colors are earth-toned even in the lobby. Bed is super comfy. The staffs were all friendly, from the receptionists in the check in counter, to the dining staffs, the cooks, even the room maids who cleans the rooms.
Highly recommended. 👍👍👍

And the environment is so chill even if the location is on a busy main street in Yunyan district.
As soon as you enter the cafe, that strong coffee aroma will linger on your palate right away.

Efficient travel to Xijiang Miao village 👍
Here's a tip when travelling to Xijiang Miao village.
From Guiyangbei (Guiyang North railway station), take a train ride to Kaili South station. i booked my train ticket in trip.com. For 58rmb one way, you will be in Kaili South station in just 39mins compared to 2hours drive (by car or bus ride). When you get to Kaili South station, DO NOT get a taxi because it will cost you much. Instead, get into those tourist and sight seeing buses on the right side of the exit of the train station in Kaili. Pay 35rmb and that tourist bus got a tour guide. It will take around 1 hour bus ride from Kaili South station to the Xijiang Miao village in Leshan county.
Note: this is what i did. Perhaps it can help you to travel more, spend less. Cheers!

Meeting the Miao ethnic minority ❤️
Miao is the official Chinese term for four distinct groups of people who are only distantly related through language or culture: the Hmu people of Southeast Guizhou, the Qo Xiong people of West Hunan, the A-Hmao people of Yunnan, and the Hmong people of Guizhou, Sichuan, Guangxi, and Yunnan.
It is believed that the Miao were among the first rice farmers in China.
In Xijiang Miao village in Leshan county, Guizhou i met some of them. They are friendly amongst the foreign and local tourists. They will welcome you open arms with a rice wine in welcoming platform. There is also a free song-and-dance performances twice a day when you visit the village.
Miao women in Xijiang wear elegant and glittering silver ornaments. They wear large neck rings, necklaces, earrings, and silver bracelets. With their colorful and vibrant costume wear.
For like 45-60rmb, you can dress up as a Miao man or woman and have your picture taken.
