We decided to rent a car and drove up to Miyazaki from Kagoshima so that we could drop by more locations! But this post will only cover places within Miyazaki - for full itinerary of our trip, maybe when we are done with the trip (because it's still on-going 😆) So here's what you can do if you have 3 days at Miyazaki! DAY 1: DAY TRIP TO UDO JINGU (Only do this if you drive!) Udo Jingu is sooo spectacular! I so love the sight of the sea!! We reached there (after leaving Kagoshima and stopping by 2 other places) at around 4+ in the late afternoon/evening so the sun and all was just *chefs kiss* DAY 2: EXPLORE MIYAZAKI 1. Miyazaki Jingu 2. Peace Tower Park 3. Miyazaki Station In no particular order, but do take note of the operating hours - especially for the Peace Tower Park, they close around 5pm. (and more importantly bus timings, their last bus leaves the park before 6pm!) We were supposed to be able to enter the Peace Tower, but it was closed due to the rain. We walked from Miyazaki Jingu to the Peace Tower Park, it is.... (kind of walkable) especially since we were walking in some light rain, but there is this long flight of stairs that we had to go up - so an alternative is to take the bus up! But their frequency may be one bus per hour, so do check their schedule! Same for the buses leaving the park 😊 We left Miyazaki Station for the last because that was the most convenient route for us (to go back to the hotel) and also the malls and stores around there open till later (past 8pm). DAY 3: AOSHIMA 1. Aoshima Beach (while walking to Aoshima Shrine) 2. Aoshima Shrine 3. Miyako Botanic Garden Aoshima We headed to Aoshima from Miyazaki station by train - again, the train runs once every hour so do take note of the train schedule! The train ride is around 30-ish minutes. We grabbed lunch once we arrived at Aoshima Station, then walked to the Aoshima Shrine. You'll pass by the Aoshima Beach before reaching the shrine as the shrine is on an island. You can spend some time on the beach then cross over to the shrine (or vice versa). After that, we went to Miyako Botanic Garden Aoshima. Went to visit the greenhouses and chilled at the cafe there while waiting for our train back to Miyazaki. The park is very clean. There are many benches around for you to relax and read etc. there are a few restaurants in the park too. You can exercise for free, play basketball or have a nice winter picnic. Surely this will be even better in the spring and summer time. Excellent place for the whole family on a chill evening. If you are looking for somewhat an instaworthy restaurant you can head to the Chillax Restaurant in Tropicana Gardens Mall(A newly opened mall), where they serve western food like steak, pizza, fish and chips and many other stuff. This Chillax place is a restaurant that tries to duplicate something like hard rock cafes where you can see the many cute little ways they make drinks interesting, from an iced guitar, to a mermaid with your tea. I visited Penang few years before with my husband for our anniversary. we drove to Penang from KL and reached there after 4 hours. Our initial plan was just a simple “checked in” at the Clan Jetties due to long travel time and exhausted body. Guess what, the stunning view of sunset of Clan Jetties ( uploaded above) had successfully let us spend an hour over there. There was a coffee shop inside the clan where we can have the view of the above pictures (not sure still there or not). Such an amazing experience at felons brewing company located right at story Bridge overlook the iconic brisbane River. Felons Brewing Company is a great place especially after work in brisbane to chill with colleague or with friends. Eventhough it's a Tuesday evening, the place was rather crowded, mostly with locals. The food and drink prices at Felons wasn't as expensive as I thought. For a snapper fish and chips in an iconic location was $24 and a pint of beer cost approximately $10-$13 which are the normal prices here in brusbane. There are alot of tables here so you don't need to worry about not getting a seat but if you want the waterfront view seats, I reckon to come early and since now it's the winter season, also do wear ample clothes as the breeze gets rather chilly even with the heaters they provide. It was a pleasant evening with a stunning sunset view at Batu Ferringhi, we spent a lovely evening at this area which is “Frandy beach bar”. Nice food, helpful staffs and liveband starts at 630pm, and fire show at 830pm every night! This chilling place is called The Speakeasy Rooftop Bar. It is located at Hotel Muse Bangkok, Level 24. Once you entered the hotel, it gives you a Victorian style. Things like furnitures, lifts and washroom are all vintage Victorian style. Once the lift reached level 24, the bar is just outside. The view at the rooftop bar is open concept city view. There is a smoking corner at the back of the bar. Sofa area is at another corner of the bar. Do take note on one thing, there are not much foods there, is mostly all alcoholic drinks. What beach has the best sand you've ever seen? Boracay has the best sand for me, the finest, the whitest and the least pebbly. CURIOUS FACT: When you go to Boracay, notice how the sand doesn't become scorching hot even on sunny days. You can walk barefeet and not get hurt unlike on other beaches. In our recent trip to Hunan, China, we had enough time to chillax at KLIA, so we went for the premium lounge. Courtesy of Trip.com, we tried out Sky Suite Lounge. It looks like the poorer cousin of Plaza Premium Lounge (which we usually use). However, we kinda like it as it's less people and the food spread, though not a lot, it's good enough and supported by the various available beverages, it's really a good place to chillax while waiting for your flight. It's located at the Satellite Terminal, so if you are flying body from KLIA Satellite Terminal, Sky Suite Louge is a good choice. Point Cartwright Lighthouse is located at LOR 577 Pacific Blvd and is popular among locals only. I chance upon this place due when I was having some coffee and cakes in a nearby cafe on the amazing sunset that you will be able to capture at this point. This lighthouse is an active lighthouse which has been in operation since 1897 guiding ships into Moreton Bay. Of course, as technology improve, this light house now uses modern lights rather than the old oil lamp. For those who want to catch the sunset, I do recommend to come earlier as the car park is very very limited. If parking is full, you might even need to park down the street and walk up towards the lighthouse.
