Crowne Plaza Sanya: The Getaway From the Mainland’s Winter You’ve Been Waiting For!
The #CrownePlazaSanyaBay during the mainlands winter is just the place to stay you’ve been looking for. The hotel is not overly crowded like most hotels, even during peak season, such as National Day or Spring Festival. It’s great for #familytravel and #couplestrip alike. The rooms are a little bit dated, but if traveling for a weekend or even the entire holiday, there are many places to go and hang out at the hotel. The views from the room are magnificent, especially during the sunrise. The hotel is located directly across from the beach, if you’re a good swimmer, I recommend going out and taking a quick dip, but be careful as the beaches of Sanya are infamous for having gigantic, slippery and often very sharp rocks once you go past knee deep water. As a foreigner who grew up in South Florida, USA and have been living in ##china for the past 16 years, this is my go to hotel and location to get that feeling of nostalgia when I’m missing home. The smell of salt water, and fresh cut grass as well as the sound of waves crashing on the beach 24/7 is very refreshing. Whether taking a weekend trip or a weeklong trip, this hotel is great. The pool is perfect. This #poolhotel is great for taking laps, teaching your kids how to swim, or just floating aon a giant rubber ducky raft; you’d think it’s going to be crowded but of the 10+ times I’ve stayed here I’m always surprised. The pool is very safe as it has at least four lifeguards on duty in the main pool, and two lifeguards in the shallow water river that’s surrounds half the property. Some of the rooms even allow you to open your balcony door and step right into the pool. Each room has a Jacuzzi bathtub on the balcony so you can watch the sunset or sunrise while taking a bath. There are no buildings that obstruct your view or allow others to stare into your room unless you’re on the lower levels. It’s super close to the airport with less than a 15 minute drive making it one of the most convenient properties if you’re looking to stay stationary and hang out by the pool/beach and get a suntan like me. Unfortunately, if you are looking for #thingstodo like head to the #dutyfreeshopping mall, you’re in for at least an hour or more ride to anything significant— then again if you are looking to go to the beach and get a suntan, but stay near the shopping mall or any of the very few sites in Sanya, you’re in for a long ride to and from the airport or the water— staying somewhere in the middle is a waste because there are no views. I can’t say that the Crowne Plaza is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at, but it’s a hotel that works for me and I keep going back again and again and again. The price is not too expensive and the staff is extremely helpful. Please feel free to ask any questions in the comments and I will certainly reply. Traveler beware, unless you are crazy like me and love to be sunburned I suggest wearing sunscreen at all hours from sun up to sundown. The UV index is off the charts all day!
