Exploring Lao Cai: A Scenic Trek Guided by Local Wisdom
Hiking to Lao Cai village during my Fansipan trip was easily one of the highlights of my visit to Vietnam. We set off early from Sapa, and the trail immediately felt magical. The morning mist hung low over the mountains, and the air was crisp and refreshing. As we trekked toward Lao Cai, the view of terraced rice fields sprawling across the valleys was absolutely stunning—shades of green and gold that seemed to stretch endlessly. I found myself stopping often, just to take in the scenery and the peacefulness of the surroundings.
What truly made the experience unforgettable, though, was our guide. She was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also so warm and approachable. Throughout the hike, she shared stories about the local Black Hmong people, their traditions, and the history of the region. She pointed out things I never would have noticed on my own, like different plants used in traditional medicine and the significance of certain symbols in the village. Her passion for her culture was infectious, and her energy kept us all excited about the journey.
Thanks to her, we were able to interact with the local villagers in a way that felt genuine and respectful. She introduced us to a local family, where we had the chance to taste some traditional dishes and even watch how they created their beautiful woven textiles. Her guidance made the entire hike feel so much more personal and immersive.
Overall, the hike to Lao Cai village was a perfect balance of stunning natural beauty and meaningful cultural experiences, and having such an amazing guide truly elevated the entire adventure.#hike #scenic #laocai

beautiful scenery at sapa
signed up for a sapa trek with waterfalls on trip.com got to chat with the villagers and enjoyed the scenery.
the local village guide met me at the hotel lobby which was a short walk to the starting point of the village trek. thereafter, we went through many up and down slopes (could be muddy and slippery if raining) before coming to a clearing where you can view the rice terraces. the guide was most happy to help me take pictures since I was a solo traveler.
along the way, there were kids trying to sell things and would be best to avoid, otherwise they will swarm you if u buy from one of them. this will also happen at the lunch place. #sapa #waterfall #laocai
Bac Ha Market@Lao Cai, Vietnam
Location - Bac Ha District, Lao Cai Province, Downtown Sapa, Vietnam.
Getting There - About 76km, approximately three hours drive from Sapa town.
Opening Hours - 8.00am to 5.00pm only on Sunday.
Attractions - Located in the northern hills of Vietnam, Bac Ha Sunday Market is one of the best ethnic markets one can find across the whole Southeast Asia. Observing many local minority tribes selling their goods, livestocks, rice wine and other handmade arts is really a new experience after; and trying the local food and snacks is another enjoyable thing😄!

Sapa Fansipan Trip Review
#aprilblooms #sapavietnam #fansipan #fansipanmountain
Today, I went to Fansipan around 9:30 Am.
I took Bike to Fansipan cable car station, and the cost is around 90,000 for round trips.
Cable car and fanicular was about 1,007,000 Dong.
After dropping out from Cable car, there are so many stairs to fanicular. I'm really so tired (is there anyone same feeling with me?😅)
So, I had two bean cakes ( 30,000 dong) as I needed to get the energy to wait, Fanicular about 40 mins.
The view is so amazing, and the weather is so cold.
I recommend foot massage near sapa station for sleeping well at night.😆

#China-Vietnam border
Before reaching Sapa, let's go off the beaten path a bit to see the border between Vietnam and China. This is a checkpoint open for both countries to pass through. The scenery of the river and the green forest, the people are bustling, the trade of various products, the vendors call for customers to come and see the products, the atmosphere is fun.
Nearby is the boundary marker of Vietnam and a shrine designed in a contemporary style, simple and mixed with beautiful patterns. The small details make the shrine unique.

Charming Old Village Of Cat Cat In Sapa
#hiddengems #sapa #laocai #traditional #catcatvillage #culture Cat Cat Village is a must go to when visiting Sapa which will more often be included in a tour together when you are here.
The village is quite close to the city centre of Sapa, probably a 15-20mins drive where you will be able to understand the way of life of the H'mong people in their peaceful, and breathtaking villages. There will be several stores here selling traditional handcrsfts, dyed clothes(self made) and also there will be shows/performance from the villages for tourists.
This is a great place to visit, especially the walk from the drop off point to the Cat Cat Village, you will be also created with the beautiful rice field on a clear day and have a breath of the amazing fresh air and cooling weather.
