Macau: A Day of Grandeur, Freebies, and Epic City Walks! 🇲🇴✨
#summervacay
Macau is absolutely fantastic and well worth a visit! You can easily cover a lot in just one day, as most attractions are surprisingly walkable. If you're up for some serious walking, you'll have a blast! There are also free "Fortune Shuttle" buses available, though I didn't end up using them.
What truly impressed me is that almost all of Macau's major attractions are free to enter! This meant my day's expenses were essentially just food and a bit of transportation. Plus, a delightful bonus: Wynn and MGM casinos even offer complimentary milk tea – you can choose between Hong Kong-style or brown sugar. And yes, it's delicious!
Recommended Walking Route:
I suggest this route for a full day of exploration:
St. Dominic's Church
Ruins of St. Paul's
Guia Hill (Dongwangyang New Street)
Grand Lisboa Casino
Wynn Macau (optional)
MGM Macau (includes a museum)
Wynn Palace (don't miss the free cable car and musical fountain!)
The Venetian Macao
The Londoner Macao
The Parisian Macao
Rua do Cunha (Cunha Street)
The Venetian, Londoner, and Parisian are essentially interconnected hotel complexes, making it feel like you're traveling the world in one go. Macau truly offers amazing value!
Walking around, I took so many photos – every corner is incredibly picturesque and great for snapping shots. My only real complaint is the humid and hot weather in Hong Kong and Macau; my phone camera kept fogging up, requiring constant wiping! Besides that, it was a perfectly enjoyable trip.
I'm planning to share a detailed transportation guide for this route, covering Japan, Hong Kong, and Macau soon!

Exploring St. Peter’s Cathedral and Its Surroundings
If you’re visiting the city on a nice day, St. Peter’s Cathedral is a great place to walk to from the city centre. This is usually a destination that doesn’t often appear in travel guides. The walk itself is pleasant, allowing you to soak in the local architecture and atmosphere before arriving at this stunning cathedral.
Unlike the grand and intricate interior of St. Anne’s Cathedral in the city center, St. Peter’s Cathedral has a different kind of majesty. Its architecture is impressive both up close and from a distance, thanks to its relatively open surroundings. Unlike some landmarks that can be obscured by nearby buildings, this cathedral stands prominently, making it an excellent spot for photography and admiration.
One of the best parts? It’s free to enter! This makes it an easy and worthwhile stop, whether you’re on a budget or simply looking for a quiet, beautiful place to explore. The peaceful atmosphere inside adds to the experience, making it a great place to take a break from the city’s hustle and bustle.
If you’re a fan of historical architecture, I am sure it’s a good place to visit

The Barber Institute of Fine Arts 🗺️
#uktrip
I had a wonderful visit to The Barber Institute of Fine Arts in Birmingham! 🖼️✨ This gem of a museum offers an impressive collection of European art, from the 13th to the 20th centuries. The entrance was free, which made exploring the beautiful galleries and stunning artworks even more enjoyable. Highlights for me included the works by Van Gogh and Monet. 🎨🌟 The museum is located within the University of Birmingham campus, so it’s easy to also check out the lovely campus grounds and the nearby Winterbourne House and Garden. If you’re in Birmingham, this place is definitely worth a visit for its art and serene atmosphere. #trip #BarberInstitute #Birmingham #ArtLovers #CulturalExperience #FreeAttractions
There’s actually this kind of free family-friendly spot in Johor Bahru?!
#springitinerary
This lakeside park located in Iskandar is super suitable for bringing kids! Not only can kids get close to nature, but they can also interact with various small animals up close — really fun!
The environment is very clean, and sitting by the lake enjoying the beautiful view creates a very chill and relaxing atmosphere.
Although it’s not specifically marked as pet-friendly, many people bring their dogs here for walks (just remember to keep your dog on a leash and bring your own poop bags).
Admission is completely free, and you can bring your own food to feed the little animals — a perfect place for quality family time!
Location: Sunway Emerald Lake

The Pantheon 🇮🇹
#summerdestinations
Just got back from visiting the Pantheon in Rome, and it was one of the highlights of my trip! 🏛️ This ancient temple, which is now a church, is absolutely breathtaking. The best part? Entrance is completely free! 🙌 The moment I stepped inside, I was awestruck by the massive dome with its famous oculus, letting in a beam of light that moves across the interior like a spotlight. It’s incredible to think this building has been standing for nearly 2,000 years! I spent a while just soaking in the atmosphere and admiring the tomb of Raphael. Afterward, I grabbed a gelato from a nearby café and enjoyed it in the lively Piazza della Rotonda, where the Pantheon is located. Such a perfect mix of history and everyday life! #trip #Pantheon #AncientRome #HistoryBuff #FreeAttractions #RomeAdventures
