Flying to Dunhuang and visiting the Cresent Spring and Echo Sand Mountains. What a day! The weather was perfect , there were so many activities to do but our time was limited. The main activity was riding a Camel for an hour, which was so cool . Climbing a sand dune, which was tough but luckily for us you could choose between walking up on your own or using some sort of climbing stair. When you get half way down the dune, you can either walk , run or slide down. We ended off with enjoying a VR hot air balloon. What a great experience! Getting There - You can type in Crescent lake if you're taking a Didi, take a taxi, you can drive yourself or go with a tour group. Attractions - The scenic are is beautiful. You can enjoy the experience of the desert on the back of a camel, take a helicopter ride, four wheeler or with a buggy ride. You can just climb up the sand hill and enjoy the view from the top. Hotels - There are hotels in close proximity of the desert. You can even experience glamping in a tent in the desert...definitely worth the experience. we had so much fun riding the camel for the first time! it’s like hopping on the train because each camel will be connected to each other! Each camels has its own personality, which some can be very naughty! Its totally safe and enjoyable. one thing was that my bum was so sore after almost 2 hours ride 😂. Snack and drinks also included in this trip! There are so many safari options in UAE, you gotta choose wisely as there are so many hidden charge for each activities. Address - Hamdan camp Abu Danbi Ambiance/Facilities - Sandbashing/ dunes/ quad bike/ camel riding/ BBQ restaurant/ night show Avg. Price per Person - 100-300AED Rating - 3/5 The safari site I took was called Hamdan camp which was like 90 mins away from Abu danbi. You can choose self driving or have an arrangement of a hotel/home pick up and drop off from the agent. For even lower budget, you can choose to go to the meeting point and get on the bus with other people. Which ever way will take you to the site eventually. But please bear in mind, if you wanna have a “better” not even good experience, you need to pay a lot extra. Don’t be shy to bargain with them if you wanna take any activities. 1 Sand bashing It was like 3-5 mins even the agent said it was 10-15 mins ride. Overall experience was like 2 stars. The drive didn’t even inform you that you should fasten your seat belt and if you are ready cuz my seat belt happened to be stuck and the first 1 min I was so close to be hurt becus of the bashing up and down. 2 Camel riding Even if they mention camel riding, it was less than 1 mins. You just sit on the camel and and then ride for 30 seconds… Of course, you can always pay for extra longer ride which will be 2-3 mins even if they said 10-15 mins. They will try to convince you that “pics and videos are included”. But please even buy it cuz later they will ask you to pay 100AED for each picture they printed out for you. 3 Quad bike I didn’t even try it cuz it looked like you were driving in the adult playground where is around 100 meters wide. 4 Buffet dinner They service BBQ food but you need to wait a long time for the food. They will announce after some shows that you need to go get your food. If you want “VIP” dinning like I did, you need to pay extra 60AED per person. But they have limited options for food. Beetroot salad was not even fresh. Imagine everything under the heat for a whole day! 5 Shows They have fire show and belly dance… which I thought was the best part of this trip.
