🍃 Nature’s Majesty at Sounkyo Gorge
Our visit to Sounkyo Gorge was one of the most memorable moments of our Hokkaido trip. Surrounded by towering cliffs and dramatic rock formations, the entire area felt like something out of a fantasy novel. It’s peaceful, raw, and absolutely stunning.
We drove through the gorge and made several stops to take in the scenery. The fresh mountain air and sound of rushing water from the nearby river were incredibly calming. We saw the famous Ginga and Ryusei waterfalls—one delicate like a silver thread, the other powerful and roaring. Both were spectacular in their own way, and together they made quite the impression.
The area wasn’t crowded when we went, so we could really soak in the quiet beauty of nature without distractions. If you’re someone who appreciates scenic drives, mountain vibes, or just a peaceful break from city life, Sounkyo Gorge is well worth the detour.

🌿 Refreshing Pause at Wachirathan Waterfall, Doi Inthanon
Wachirathan Waterfall was one of the highlights of our day trip to Doi Inthanon. We stopped by in the morning, and it was breathtaking from the moment we arrived. The waterfall cascades powerfully down a tall cliff, sending mist into the air and creating beautiful rainbows when the sun hits it right. The path from the parking lot to the main viewing area is short and easy, which made it super convenient for everyone in the family.
We stood at the base for a while just taking in the view and the roar of the water. There’s something really calming and energizing about it at the same time. There’s also a trail that leads you up to a higher viewpoint where you can see more of the surrounding forest and falls. It’s not a difficult climb, but do wear shoes with grip—the rocks can get slippery.
There are food stalls and simple restrooms near the entrance, and while it’s not a place you’d stay at for hours, even spending 30–45 minutes here felt refreshing. We didn’t get to swim (it’s not allowed), but the cool mist alone was enough to beat the heat.
If you’re heading to Doi Inthanon, definitely make time for this stop. It’s easily one of the most photogenic waterfalls we’ve seen in Thailand.

📍A Day in an Indonesian Volcano Town – Just Being a Carefree Kid 🧒☁️
#summervacay
Took a day off from “adulting” and spent it like a happy kid – no tight schedules, just nature, photos, and chill time.
① Early morning – Kapas Biru Waterfall 🌊 + Volcano View
Woke up around 5 AM to catch the iconic Kapas Biru – a waterfall where you can see it aligned perfectly with the volcano in the background.
There’s a queue system for taking photos – first come, first served, so go early!
This spot was bigger than I expected, took more time to explore. Bonus moment: some fellow Chinese travelers thought I was Japanese 😅
② Next stop – Semeru Volcano Town 🌋
You can already see smoke rising from the volcano while driving in – surreal!
The town itself was buzzing with life: kids flying kites, friends chatting over coffee, and everyone just enjoying the view.
👉 Tip: If it's crowded near the cafes, walk a bit further in or head toward the rice fields for a better, unobstructed view and quieter atmosphere.
③ Volcano-watching insight:
This experience made me realize that seeing a volcano clearly takes a mix of timing, patience, and luck.
One moment it’s crystal clear, the next it’s swallowed by mist. But if you wait a little longer, chances are – the view will reward you. ⏳🌋
④ Last stop – Sewu Waterfall (just a 10-minute walk from our hotel)
To be honest, I found it underwhelming.
It’s nice, but not jaw-dropping – I’ve seen even more impressive ones in China.
Still, the Panorama Point near the entrance is quite photogenic and worth a quick stop!

Prince Henry Cliff Walk at Blue Mountain, Sydney
If you’re heading to the Blue Mountains, don’t miss the Prince Henry Cliff Walk — it’s one of the most scenic bushwalks I’ve ever done. Stretching between Katoomba and Leura, this trail offers a perfect mix of lookouts, waterfalls, and forest serenity.
We took our time along the walk, stopping at Bridal Veil Lookout and the peaceful Leura Cascades — both were absolutely stunning. The sound of rushing water, birdsong, and crisp mountain air made it feel like a full-on nature retreat. Bridal Veil Falls tumbles delicately over the cliffs, while Leura Cascades offers a more layered, tranquil vibe — and plenty of great photo ops along the way.
The best part? The track is well-maintained, easily accessible, and you can choose shorter sections if you’re not up for the full trail. Just bring good walking shoes, some water, and be ready for Blue Mountains magic at every turn.

A great day hiking Kirkjufell 🗺️
#outdooractivities
This summer, I had the incredible experience of hiking near Kirkjufell in Iceland, and it was nothing short of epic. Kirkjufell, known as the “Church Mountain,” is one of the most iconic and photographed spots in Iceland, and seeing it in person was absolutely surreal. The best part? There’s no entrance fee—nature’s beauty is free for all!
I started my hike on a clear morning, with the mountain’s unique, pointed shape always in view. The trails around the area are well-marked and offer varying levels of difficulty. I chose a moderate path that led me through lush green fields and small streams, with the majestic Kirkjufell always looming in the background. The sound of nearby waterfalls, including the famous Kirkjufellsfoss, added to the tranquility of the experience.
After a few hours of hiking, I reached a viewpoint that perfectly framed the mountain and the falls below. The combination of the mountain, the waterfall, and the surrounding landscape was absolutely breathtaking. For those who want a closer look, the trails around the falls are easy to navigate and offer stunning photo opportunities.
Kirkjufell and the surrounding area are a hiker’s paradise, with the perfect mix of challenging trails and serene views. It’s a place where you can truly connect with nature, and I left feeling rejuvenated and inspired. 🌄🥾 #trip #Kirkjufell #IcelandHiking #NatureLovers #WaterfallViews #AdventureAwaits
Plitvice lakes National Park 🇭🇷
#summerdestinations
I recently spent an unforgettable day at Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia, and it was truly spectacular! The park's entrance fee was €40, and it was well worth every cent. The cascading lakes and waterfalls are absolutely breathtaking, with crystal-clear waters and lush green surroundings.
I followed the walking trails, which led me through serene forests and over wooden footbridges, offering stunning views of the lakes and waterfalls. The boat ride on Lake Kozjak was a highlight and was included in the ticket price. Nearby, I also explored the Upper and Lower Lakes, each offering unique and picturesque views.
Plitvice Lakes is a nature lover’s paradise, with its natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere making it a must-visit destination. 🌲💧 #trip #PlitviceLakes #CroatianNature #WaterfallViews #NationalParkAdventure #ScenicTrails

Nanning surprised me with its lush greenery and relaxed vibe! 🌿🌆 A must-visit is Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Area (20 CNY), where I hiked through bamboo forests and enjoyed stunning city views from the Longxiang Pagoda. 🏯🌄 The Detian Waterfall, about a 2.5-hour drive away, was absolutely breathtaking—one of the biggest transnational waterfalls in the world! 💦🌏 At night, Zhongshan Road Food Street was the place to be, with delicious rice noodles and street snacks. 🍜🔥 Nanning is a hidden gem in southern China! #NanningVibes #NatureEscape #HiddenGem #ChinaTravel #WaterfallViews #FoodieAdventure
