Sorrento: Cliffside Grandeur & Lazy Alleyways 🏞️🍋
#summervacay
Even though a Chinese couple you met suggested Sorrento was small and only worth a brief stop on the way to Capri, you wisely decided to dedicate a full day to it. And what a great decision! It also served as a much-needed day to recover from your intense sightseeing in Istanbul and Rome. 😌
And what a wonderful choice it was! Sorrento surprised and charmed you, offering a perfect blend of dramatic cliffside views and quaint, leisurely alleys. It sounds like you truly found a place to unwind and appreciate the beauty at a slower pace.

Visit Tropea 🇮🇹
#travelgram
Tropea, Italy, is like a dream come true! Perched on cliffs overlooking the turquoise Tyrrhenian Sea, this coastal gem is simply stunning. I spent hours just strolling through the narrow streets, soaking in the charm of the old town. The highlight for me was visiting the Santa Maria dell’Isola, a picturesque monastery on a rocky promontory. Entry was around €3, and the panoramic views from the top were unbelievable—definitely a must-see!
The beaches are just as amazing as you’d expect. I spent an afternoon lounging at Spiaggia della Rotonda, where the crystal-clear water made for perfect swimming. The best part? It’s free to access! Afterward, I indulged in some gelato and fresh seafood at one of the seaside restaurants—Tropea’s red onions are famous, and they didn’t disappoint!
Tropea’s laid-back vibe combined with its natural beauty made it the perfect escape. Plus, you’re close to Pizzo and Capo Vaticano if you want to explore more of Calabria’s coastline.

Riomaggiore day trip 🇮🇹
#italytrip
Spent a day in Riomaggiore, one of the beautiful villages in Cinque Terre, and it was like stepping into a postcard! The train from La Spezia was just a few euros, and once you arrive, you're greeted by colorful houses stacked on the cliffs overlooking the sea 🌊🏘️. There’s no entrance fee to the village itself, but if you want to hike the trails between the villages, you'll need a Cinque Terre Trekking Card, which costs around €7.50.
We started with a walk down to the harbor, where the boats and crystal-clear waters made for some stunning photos. For lunch, we grabbed some fresh seafood at a little trattoria overlooking the water – the anchovies and pesto pasta were incredible 🍝🐟. Then, we strolled through the narrow, winding streets, checking out the local shops selling everything from ceramics to lemon-themed souvenirs.
The Via dell'Amore trail was unfortunately closed, but we still enjoyed hiking a bit up the hillside for some incredible views of the village and the sea. If you have time, take a dip in the harbor or just relax on the rocks and soak up the sun.
Riomaggiore is a perfect mix of relaxation and adventure, with that authentic Italian charm. Can't recommend it enough for a day trip!

Matera was a great vacation spot 🇮🇹
#italytrip
My visit to Matera was a truly unforgettable experience! 🏛️✨ Located in southern Italy, Matera is famous for its ancient cave dwellings, or "Sassi," which offer a unique glimpse into the past. The entrance to the Sassi area is free, but I paid around €10 for a guided tour that was well worth it for the rich historical context.
Wandering through the winding streets of the Sassi di Matera felt like stepping back in time. The ancient stone houses, carved directly into the rock, are incredibly well-preserved and give the city a unique charm. 🏡🔦 I also explored the nearby Matera Cathedral, which boasts stunning views over the city and the surrounding valley.
Don’t miss the chance to try local specialties like “pane di Matera” and “caciocavallo” at one of the town’s charming restaurants. 🍞🧀 Matera’s blend of history, culture, and cuisine makes it a must-visit destination in Italy. #trip #Matera #SassiDiMatera #HistoricItaly #CaveDwellings #ItalianCharm

The church’s interior, with its intricate rock carvings and serene atmosphere, provides a striking contrast to its rugged exterior. Udine is a beautiful coty in Italy 🇮🇹
#traveldiaries
I recently spent a day in Udine, Italy, and it was such a pleasant surprise! 🏛️ Tucked away in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, this small city offers a perfect mix of history, art, and relaxed Italian charm. The main square, Piazza della Libertà, is beautiful with its Venetian-style architecture and the Loggia del Lionello. I climbed up to the Castello di Udine, which costs around €7 to enter. From there, you get a panoramic view of the entire city and the surrounding mountains—well worth the visit!
Inside the castle, there’s a museum with art and historical artifacts, giving you a deeper understanding of the region’s rich past. Afterward, I wandered around the quiet streets, stopping at local cafes for a spritz and some delicious prosciutto. Nearby, you can visit the charming town of Cividale del Friuli or take a drive to the wine country of Collio for some wine tasting. Udine is perfect if you’re looking for an authentic Italian city that’s off the beaten path.
