The area of The Habitat is not too big, not much visitor as well during long weekend. Nice greenery away from the hustle and bustle of the busy Penang Hill. Recommended to visit at least once. Cheaper ticket can be found online or pay attention to their social media for occasional promotion. 👀 The entire area is quite pleasant to walk and won't be too tiring except for the Curtis crest, which you need to climb a few flights of stairs to get to the top. But when you are here, you should at least give this original Xingfutang a try. The boba here is so soft and chewy and it seems like it melts in your mouth. That explains the long queue! Decided to visit this warm and refreshing cafe after having a bad coffee from newly opened cafe nearby. I went to this cafe almost two years ago before, it’s amazing that they can keep the good appearance and service. 👀 They got extensive selection of coffee beans from local and overseas. Definitely one of the best hiking spot in Penang island. Plenty of parking spaces available from walking distance to the entrance point. There are a few stops before reaching Penang hill. 👣 The trail is well maintained and easy to navigate and follow but at some points it's a bit confusing so it's better to get info before moving or you might end up at different hill. Its a steep climb when you are near the top. You can enjoy jungle and view of Penang and sea on your way. The total time was about 3 hours and the hike is about intermediate level. We went at a fairly relaxed pace and stopped every now and then to take photos. Most of the track is either flat or at a slight incline. This place has a beautiful view and great for sunrise. It's an easy hike, around an hour hike. It's better to start your hike around 5am, so that you will be able to catch the sunrise and to avoid the swarm of people going up around 730am onward. 👀 There are 3 peaks, hike to peak 1 is long but once you reach peak 1, going to peak 2 is relatively easy. Peak 3 is not too far from peak 2 but the path is quite challenging. I would recommend bringing spare clothes because whatever you were will be dirty. 🍃 There are clear signs to take you to the top. The view is very beautiful during the hike. You can see the horizon with clouds in the morning. At the highest peak, you can either climb the rock or walk around it to the top. 👣 Hiking is all about enjoying nature. One of the oldest coffee mills in Malaysia. They have a showroom showcasing their process of preparing the beans. Love the roasted smell wafting around the area. Lots of parking in front. Friendly staff. 😎 There is no entrance fee for this attraction. We bought a few bags of coffee and took photos around the facility. Worth a quick visit and for purchase of traditional charcoal roasted coffee. The bottled coffee they sell tastes good, with a minty feel that cools and refreshes the throat on a hot day. Thinking of a short weekend Getaway trip to KL. Let me teach you how to, 1. Leave SINGAPORE on a 7pm/8pm coach which most likely will reach KL about 1am/2am. 2. Make sure your hotels are booked near the location of your bus drop off point in KL. I recommend Berjaya Time Square dropp off. 3. We stayed at JW Marriot since everything is walking distance from the hotel, and this includes also the bus drop off point. So that you won't need to take a taxi or get haggled by these drivers. 4. We had good seafood which includes a whole steam fish, fried mantis prawns, clams, vegetables and their very popular crab curry with Mantou at Restaurant New Kai Eng Seafood, Jalan Kenanga, 50, Jalan Merlimau, Pudu, and all these only cost less than $85Sgd! 5. For breakfast on Sunday we had a local dimsum popular among the locals only at Restoran Tuck Cheong located at 29, jalan kancil pudu. It is a corner shop with a few tables, you will be able to find it by looking at several locals gathering outside the shops. 6. A quick & refreshing watermelon juice right across the road at Dutch Square, Melaka. There are afew stalls selling the same things. But this particular stall is right at the pedestrian crossing, the man blending the juice has an iconic image, he always wears a cowboy hat. The juice is blended inside the watermelon itself. So it is really pure watermelon juice, served with ice cubes. There are also seats for u to be seated on & to take a break from the hot weather. They sell other food too. However, as it is a tourist spot, the prices are abit marked up. From what I observed, it is dynamic pricing & depending on the size of watermelon. I got mine at RM12. Lucky claypot rice is located at 44 Holland Dr, #02-19, Holland Drive Market & Food Center, 270044. This is the only stall that opens in the evening as the rest if the stalls only open till 2/3pm. During peak hours, you have to wait approximately 45 to an hour and is worth the wait. The claypot chicken rice is served to you in a steaming hot pot with charred cook rice and cure meat with the tender juciy chicken Thigh. You have to add the black sauce and oil yourself. Best thing about this place is the location, by far. Being close to Pasar Seni station is great, but the Chinatown area is fun in its own right for shopping and food. The rooms are a bit small and a little oddly decorated. As others have mentioned, cleaning and turn down service is by request only. The elevators are also slow, and there's no breakfast option here. Still, the rates are appropriate for what you are getting, so this is a decent place to stay for a few days if you're not looking to pamper yourself. The superb thing from the hotel is location, just a 2 minutes walk to pasar seni MRT/LRT, then you can explore KL from a-z and even the other city from KL Sentral, only 1 stop riding a LRT. The staff were very helpful and the room was comfortable and clean. Recommend booking an extra night online as it was cheaper than booking directly at reception.
