In love in Siracusa 🇮🇹
#summerdestinations
This summer, I spent a few unforgettable days in Syracuse, Sicily, and it was like stepping back in time! 🏛️ The city’s mix of ancient ruins, stunning coastline, and vibrant culture made it a truly magical experience. We paid about €10 to visit the Archaeological Park of Neapolis, and it was worth every cent. The highlight was definitely the Greek Theatre—standing there, surrounded by centuries of history, was something else.
We also explored Ortigia, the old town of Syracuse, which is just a short walk away. The narrow, winding streets are full of charm, with beautiful Baroque buildings, lively piazzas, and the stunning Cathedral of Syracuse (free to enter but donations are appreciated). We enjoyed a relaxing lunch at one of the local trattorias, indulging in fresh seafood and pasta. 🍝
If you’re into nature, the nearby Vendicari Nature Reserve is a must-visit. It’s about a 30-minute drive, and entrance is free. The beaches there are pristine, and we even spotted some flamingos! 🦩
Syracuse is a place where history, culture, and natural beauty blend together perfectly. I left with a full heart and a memory card packed with photos. Can’t wait to go back! 😍
