North Africa Sahara Desert Adventure: A Magnificent Experience You Must Visit in Your Lifetime
#NaWhereToGo | North Africa Sahara Desert Adventure
I have always liked this passage by Sanmao: "Every time I think of you, a grain of sand falls from the sky, and the Sahara is formed." But I have never read it and thought that one day I would be able to actually experience it.
For this trip to the Sahara Desert, I randomly found a local travel agency, yalla morocco, on the Internet for a 3-day and 2-night private tour. We just wanted to spend money and get the job done, and since it only required two people to travel and there was a driver, we decided to book it. (Price: €470 per person for 2 participants)
Three-day itinerary:
Day 1: Depart from Marrakech - Head to Dades Gorges
Day 2: Dades Gorges - Todra Gorges - Sahara Desert
Day 3: Sahara Desert – Fez
(One night in the canyon on the first day / a desert tent on the second day)

On the first day of our trip, we first went to the famous ancient city of Ait Benhaddou. This 16th-century ancient city sandcastle is not only a world cultural heritage, but also the filming location for many movies. Before entering Ait Ben Haddou, you need to cross a dry river and then slowly climb to the top of the ancient city. Although the whole route is not too difficult, walking in the 40-degree heat really feels like being "roasted" 🤣
However, as we wandered through the earthy alleys of the old city, we suddenly felt that it was all worth it. The pure ancient charm and mystery of the ancient city make people forget the heat in an instant, leaving only full of wonder and emotion.

I am not so fascinated by the canyon. After all, Taiwan’s Taroko Gorge is thousands of times more beautiful. The reason I specifically shared this journey is that when we stopped at a small village on the way, two local little boys greeted us enthusiastically. Their innocent smiles made us feel good about them. He handed each of us a hand-woven straw camel, which looked simple and very local. At that time, my heart was filled with gratitude and I felt it was a really thoughtful little gift. But just as we were about to leave, the little boy said, "2 Euro". ...Thank you so much🥲

Finally arrived at the highlight of this trip - the Sahara Desert! Seeing the boundless magnificence and tranquility of the desert with my own eyes is so amazing that it is impossible to describe in words. Even though there was strong wind and sand on that day, it still couldn't conceal its magnificent beauty. After arriving, we said goodbye to our tour guide and were taken over by a professional young guide in the desert. The moment I sat on the camel, I could only say it was a magical feeling 😂. Along the way, the guides had clear division of labor. Some were responsible for pulling the camels, and some were responsible for taking pictures. They were really professional and the money spent on this part was well worth it! Before arriving at the tent, we stopped at a rest point to admire the sunset and play in the sand. That moment of tranquility is so comfortable, as if all troubles become insignificant in the face of this vast nature. After arriving at the tent, you can go to the public tent to enjoy dinner after a simple wash. There will also be a campfire party at night.
After the whole trip, I really recommend everyone to find a private tour guide, which not only saves a lot of trouble, but also gives you the opportunity to experience some local "little secrets" / The tour guide took us to a secret place to buy some wine. It's really a little happiness in a country where you can't drink freely 🤎
