This is a huge complex and beautiful. There’s lots to see so wear comfortable shoes and respectful clothing (covered shoulders, backs, and knees) or you'll be kicked out after paying your entry fee. We just walked across from the hotel where we stay. Palace Gate Hotel was next to Royal palace. If you are not staying around that area, please take a tuktuk tour of the city before going there which I highly suggest. The complex is divided into 3 main compounds. The Silver pagoda, Khemarin Palace and Throne Hall which is still used today for religious & royal ceremonies. I would recommend a tour guy to see the highlights since there’s a lot to see. Informative afternoon of exploring and photo taking. $10USD per person entry, extra $10USD for a guide. One can understand if access were restricted to areas used by the royal family; but entire areas of the gardens were cordoned off. Many other halls in the palace were barred for entry. Please be mindful the staff are insistent about "no photos inside royal/respectful spaces" and they will jump on you if caught doing a sneaky. Highlight: The Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Silver Pagoda) is a must see. We woke up very early to catch the beautiful sunrise at majestic Angkor Wat. Measuring 162.6 hectares, it is the largest religious structure in the world. I had a lot of fun at the floating village I went to in Cambodia! It's a floating village near Tonle Sap Lake, and you can see the people who live there by boat🙆‍♀️ The road to get there was also like nature! It felt like another world, and it was really fun👍 There's a counter to buy boat tickets, so you can buy them there and head to the boat I couldn't do it because the rainy season had just started, but when the water level rises, you can enjoy a mangrove tour, so I recommend going in the rainy season (around autumn in Japan)! It was a peaceful atmosphere, and there were a lot of crocodiles, which was rare🐊 All the little kids were waving at me, and it was really relaxing I chartered a tuk-tuk for $25 a day! It takes about an hour to get there from the city, so if you have time, please go! I've always wanted to go to Angkor Wat, and it was amazing! It's about 30 minutes from the center of Siem Reap, and it's bigger than I expected, so even if you don't know much about the ruins, you can still enjoy it🙆‍♀️ I chartered a tuk-tuk for a roundabout route! The tuk-tuk driver who took me to and from the airport recommended it, so I asked him to do so, and I was able to charter it for $25 to watch the sunrise👍 It was early in the morning, but the atmosphere was great and it became a lifelong memory! This restaurant is so delicious and I highly recommend it! You can walk from Pub Street, and the restaurant is open-air and has a great atmosphere👍 They mainly serve grilled dishes and have a wide variety, so it's perfect for dinner! I ordered a steak set, and it was very delicious even though it was reasonably priced🥹 It was so crowded that I wondered if it was full at night, and it seemed very popular🥰 You can eat your fill for about 1,000 to 2,000 yen per person! The hotel I stayed at in Cambodia was really great 🥹 It's a stylish hotel about 7km from the Angkor Wat ruins, and within walking distance of the night market and old market! The entrance is small, but they offer welcome drinks and nuts, and the hospitality is excellent👍 The room is 60 square meters, and it has a bathtub and a terrace, so it was very comfortable Breakfast is included, and on weekdays you can stay for 10,000 yen for two people, so it's the best value for money🐵 Pub Street is within walking distance, and there are many restaurants nearby.
