Ride Between the Bridges: A Golden Hour Cycle Along Penang’s Coast
#springitinerary #PenangCycling #PenangBridges #SunsetRide #PenangSecondBridge #PenangFirstBridge #EveningCycling #CoastalViews #MalaysiaByBike #BridgeSideAdventure
As part of my itinerary in Penang, I went for an evening cycling ride along the coastal lane between Penang’s 1st and 2nd bridges — and it turned out to be a perfect way to end the day. The wide, paved cycling path hugged the water’s edge, offering uninterrupted views of the sea and both iconic bridges stretching across the horizon.
As the sun began to set, the sky transformed into shades of orange, pink, and purple. A cool breeze blew in from the coast, and the water shimmered in the fading light. The atmosphere was calm, with a mix of joggers, local cyclists, and a few anglers by the shore. It felt safe, scenic, and refreshingly peaceful — a hidden gem for those who want to see a different side of Penang.
Travel Tips:
• Best time to cycle: Evening (around 5:30–7:00 PM) for cooler temperatures and sunset views.
• Bring your own bike or rent nearby: Bike-sharing may be limited in this area.
• Stay hydrated: Bring water as there are few shops along the way.
• Perfect for beginners and casual riders: The route is flat and well-paved.
• Watch for tide and wind: Coastal wind can be strong at times — secure any loose gear.
• Bring a headlamp or light if staying past dusk: Lighting is limited after dark.
How to Get There:
• By car or Grab: Navigate to Queensbay Mall or Batu Maung for easy access to entry points.
• Nearby landmarks: Second Bridge (Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Bridge) and First Bridge (Penang Bridge).
• By public transport: Buses to Queensbay area, then cycle or walk to the trail start.
• Combine with: Dinner at Queensbay seaside cafes, or a visit to Batu Maung fishing village.
Horse riding in Red Rose Valley 🔆
#desert
Horse riding in Red Rose Valley, Cappadocia, was one of the most memorable experiences of my trip to Turkey! 🏜️🐎 Imagine riding through a landscape that feels like it's straight out of a fairy tale, with its unique rock formations, caves, and stunning red and pink hues reflecting the sunset. The valley is just a short drive from Göreme, making it super accessible. I booked a two-hour guided horse ride that cost around 400 TRY (roughly $15 USD), which was totally worth it for the views and the experience of exploring this beautiful place from a different perspective.
My horse was gentle and well-trained, perfect for a beginner like me, but still lively enough to make the ride exciting. Our guide was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, sharing stories about the history and geology of the area, which made the whole experience even richer. 🌄 As we rode through the winding trails, we passed by ancient rock-cut churches and pigeon houses, carved into the cliffs centuries ago. The peace and tranquility of the valley were so calming, with only the sound of hooves and the occasional bird breaking the silence.
Nearby attractions include the Göreme Open Air Museum, with its well-preserved frescoes, and Uchisar Castle, which offers panoramic views of the whole region. If you’re up for more adventure, you can try hot air ballooning over Cappadocia's unique landscape at dawn. 🎈 The views from above are just as spectacular as from the saddle.
Riding through Red Rose Valley gave me a new appreciation for Cappadocia’s breathtaking beauty. Whether you're a seasoned rider or a complete novice, this experience is a must! 🌹 #trip #Cappadocia #RedRoseValley #HorseRidingAdventures #SunsetRide #TravelTurkey

#outdooradventure
If you’re looking for a unique way to explore Bruges, cycling is the perfect adventure! I rented a bike right from Bruges City Centre and set off on an unforgettable journey that took me from cobblestone streets to the peaceful shores of the Belgian coast. Here’s how my cycling day unfolded:
🚲 Starting from Bruges City Centre
I picked up a bike from one of the many bike rental shops in the heart of Bruges. With the city’s flat terrain and bike-friendly paths, it was easy to set off for a scenic ride. Cycling through the charming streets of Bruges, I passed by medieval buildings and picturesque canals that gave the city a storybook feel.
🌳 Cycling Through Nature to the Beach
I followed a dedicated cycling path that took me out of the city and into the lush countryside. The journey was peaceful and full of natural beauty, with fields and farms stretching out on both sides. As I pedaled on, I could feel the air changing—cooler and fresher—until I reached the beach.
🏖 Arriving at the Beach: The Perfect Coastal Escape
Bruges is just a short cycle ride away from Blankenberge, a beautiful coastal town. The beach was quiet and perfect for a relaxed afternoon. I parked my bike, took off my shoes, and dipped my toes into the North Sea, feeling the cool sand between my feet. There’s something magical about a beach that’s not too crowded, and this was the perfect spot to unwind.
🌅 Cycling Back at Sunset
As the evening approached, I hopped back on my bike for the return journey. The sky turned golden and then pink as I cycled along the quiet roads back to Bruges. The sunset views were absolutely breathtaking, with the vibrant colors reflecting off the canals as I glided through the city. It was a peaceful, meditative ride—one of the best ways to experience Bruges!
💡 Tips for a Cycling Adventure in Bruges:
