🌊 Lakeside Dining Done Right at LS X Park Restaurant
Tucked away by a peaceful lake in Iskandar Puteri, LS X Park Restaurant offers more than just a meal—it delivers a full dining experience. The calm waters and open, airy setting instantly set a relaxed mood, making it perfect whether you’re here for a quiet dinner or a small celebration.
The food impressed right from the first bite. We went for the Chinese-style seafood and were not disappointed. The salted egg fried prawns were crispy, rich, and addictive, while the Teochew-style steamed fish was fresh, delicate, and beautifully balanced in flavor. Every dish came out looking as good as it tasted, showing clear attention to detail in both flavor and presentation.
What stood out just as much as the food was the service. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. They made sure we felt welcome from the moment we arrived, and their quick service added to the overall ease of the evening.
Yes, prices here are a little above the norm, but for the quality of the seafood, the polished service, and that unbeatable lakeside view, it feels justified. If you’re looking for a serene spot to enjoy great seafood and a scenic setting, LS X Park is a fantastic choice.

🦐🌅 Rustic Seafood Feast & Sunset Views at Kukup
Tucked at the southern tip of Johor lies Kukup, a sleepy fishing village with big seafood flavours and one of the most charming sunset views around.
We drove down for a late afternoon seafood feast and weren’t disappointed — think fresh prawns, chili crab, fried squid and lala cooked kampung-style in humble, sea-facing restaurants built on stilts. The vibe was refreshingly rustic — no frills, but that’s exactly the charm.
🌊 As we ate, we watched the tide roll in beneath us and caught a stunning sunset over the water. It’s moments like these that make you forget city life for a while.
📍 Getting There: Kukup is about 1.5–2 hours by car from Johor Bahru and is a popular detour for those en route to Pontian.
⸻
Pro Tips:
• Go before 5pm to secure a good waterfront table for dinner.
• Bring cash; some eateries may not accept cards.
• Wear comfy sandals — it’s a bit uneven walking on the wooden planks.

🐉 A Glimpse of the Fortune Dragon – A Future Visit in the Making
The family decided to make the Fortune Dragon in Yong Peng, Johor a short stopover during our journey. While we initially planned to explore the attraction, the RM25 entry fee per adult and our tight schedule made us rethink. Instead, we opted for a relaxing coffee break at the small café located just outside the main entrance.
Even from the outside, the sight was quite captivating. The massive dragon structure was undeniably impressive, winding through the landscape, and the surrounding garden appeared beautifully manicured. It definitely sparked our curiosity and left us wanting more.
We’ll certainly make it a point to return when we have more time to explore the full experience.

#springitinerary #TaipingLake #MalaysiaLakeside #TaipingNature #TranquilMalaysia #TaipingPerak #LakeViews #TaipingPark #HiddenGemsMalaysia #ScenicWalks #MalaysiaTravel
There’s something timeless about Taiping Lake Gardens. I arrived in the early morning, and the stillness of the lake instantly wrapped around me like a peaceful blanket. The water was perfectly calm, mirroring the elegant rain trees that arc dramatically over the walking paths, like nature’s own cathedral ceiling.
Walking along the lakeside felt like stepping into an old postcard — with misty hills in the backdrop, colonial architecture nearby, and the scent of morning dew in the air. Families were out for walks, uncles were practicing tai chi, and photographers were patiently waiting for that perfect reflection shot. I didn’t rush — just soaked in the quiet, took deep breaths, and let the view do its magic.
It’s one of those places where time slows down — an underrated gem that lets you reconnect with nature and yourself.

Cafe vibes with ocean views at Yard & Co, Desaru
One of the most talked-about cafes in the Desaru area — and for good reason. Yard & Co is popular with both locals and weekenders from across the causeway, thanks to its stunning seaside location, breezy alfresco deck, and clean minimalist architecture that feels straight out of a K-drama scene.
We came for a midday treat and were greeted with chill vibes and Insta-worthy desserts. The tiramisu was light and creamy, the chewy milk mochi paired perfectly with roasted peanut and black sesame, and the iced tea was super refreshing in the heat. They also serve hot food and mains if you’re here for a full meal.
Do take note though: prices are more on the premium side — think Singapore cafe pricing. A pretty setting does come with a price tag! But for the view and ambiance, we’d say it’s worth the occasional splurge.
Tip: come early to avoid the crowd and get an outdoor seat facing the sea. It gets packed on weekends!

Starting my day the best way—with a rich, double-shot Mochaccino at Daily Coffee. Pur
I visited Daily Coffee in Bandar Puteri and it exceeded all my expectations! The café has a gorgeous, serene interior with soft lighting, natural touches, and a unique lunar-themed feature wall. It’s the perfect place to relax, work, or have a catch-up session with friends.
The star of my visit was their signature Mochaccino, perfectly balanced with less sugar and a double shot for that rich, bold coffee kick. I also indulged in their spicy ramen, which was packed with bold flavors, aromatic spices, and just the right amount of heat. The perfectly soft-boiled eggs, fresh seaweed, and crunchy toppings made it a standout dish.
The café also has a fun seasonal menu, and I loved browsing through the creative drink cups on display. The staff were super friendly and the service was fast. A definite must-visit spot if you’re in Bandar Puteri looking for great coffee, comforting food, and a calming ambiance!
