Vienna city scape 🏙️

Vienna is absolutely magical! 🏙️ I spent a few days in the heart of this historic city, and I was blown away by its blend of imperial charm and modern vibes. My first stop was the famous Schönbrunn Palace. For €22, I explored the palace’s lavish rooms and the vast gardens—truly like stepping back in time! The view from Gloriette Hill was amazing.
The city center is packed with beautiful architecture, like the St. Stephen’s Cathedral, which towers over everything. I wandered around Kärntner Strasse, a bustling street filled with shops and cafes. Grabbing a slice of Sachertorte at Café Sacher was a must—so delicious! 🍰
Vienna is perfect for walking or biking around, especially through the MuseumsQuartier and Prater Park, where I hopped on the Ferris wheel for great city views. I also loved the evening vibes along the Danube Canal—people out relaxing, and the riverside art was so cool to see.

Is it worth it? The legendary Sachertorte in Cafe Sacher
The top Viennese dessert to get is Sachertorte - a chocolate cake with apricot jam filling.
This cafe is the original place to get the cake.
A few thoughts:
- I came on a Sunday morning (9:30) and it took only 10mins to get in (note there are a few cafes that form part of Hotel Sacher where you can get the cake)
- The interior was comfortable, a classic Viennese coffeehouse, not too busy with tall ceilings
- The cake: the cafe uses the original recipe from 1832. The cake is not a moist cake (but the jam and creme alongside help) but it is the original. It was €9.9 for the slice when I went.
- The service is classic brusque Viennese service, not unfriendly but not falling over themselves to entertain you.
Try it for yourself and let me know what you think!
