Trip to Correggio 🇮🇹
#italytrip
Visiting Correggio in Italy was like uncovering a hidden gem in the heart of Emilia-Romagna! 🇮🇹 This small, charming town is bursting with history and a welcoming vibe that made me feel at home immediately. The highlight was the Correggio Cathedral, or Basilica di San Quirino, with its stunning frescoes and peaceful atmosphere. Entry is free, and I spent time admiring the artwork by the town’s famous namesake, Antonio da Correggio, whose influence is visible throughout the city. 🎨
Wandering through the cobbled streets, I loved the mix of medieval and Renaissance architecture, especially the beautiful Palazzo dei Principi, which now houses a museum. 🏛️ The atmosphere in the main square, Piazza Garibaldi, was lively, with cafes spilling out onto the street. I couldn’t resist trying some local specialties, like the delicious prosciutto and Parmigiano-Reggiano – the flavors were unforgettable! 🧀🍷
Correggio also offers easy access to nearby attractions like Modena and Parma, both perfect for day trips. If you’re into history, art, and good food, Correggio is the ideal spot to experience authentic Italian culture away from the typical tourist trail. #trip #Correggio #EmiliaRomagna #ItalianArt #HiddenGemItaly #CulinaryDelights

Taste tomatoes in Emilia-Romagna
It is well known that Emilia-Romagna is the region where the Italian delicacies come from. Just think of Parmesan cheese, mortadella, lasagna, balsamic vinegar and of course Parma ham, but tomatoes are also a speciality. The Italian family business Mutti ensures that tomatoes are processed into passata, tomato pulp and other tomato products. The result is ultimately for sale in our stores.
Parma is centrally located in the Food Valley and is a must-see when it comes to Italian food. In less than half an hour you are in Montechiarugolo. The Italian company Mutti has its headquarters here between the tomato fields. Mutti exists more then 120 years and has a very good reputation when it comes to quality. In Italy, tomatoes are not called “pomodoro” or golden apples for nothing.
Mutti works with about 400 tomato growers who have fields in all corners of the country. The only condition is that the fresh tomatoes do not travel too long, because the entire process from harvest to packaging must take place in less than 24 hours. The tomato plants grow here in open ground and are harvested only once a year to guarantee an ideal taste. Usually in September.
