Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, Tibet
The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is the largest and deepest canyon in the world. According to data released by the National Administration of Surveying, Mapping and Geoinformation: This grand canyon starts from Daduka Village at an altitude of 3,000 meters in Pai Town, Milin County in the north, passes through the Yarlung Zangbo River bend in Pailong Township, and ends at Bashika Village at an altitude of only 115 meters in Medog County in the south. The main part of the canyon is in Medog County.
From Duoka Village, Ganden Township, Medog County, all the way to Gala Village, Pai Town, Milin County, is the uninhabited area of the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon. This section is also the area of the Grand Canyon that has been included in the paid scenic area.
Viewing Mount Nanga Bawa is one of the main purposes of coming to the Grand Canyon. Mount Nanga Bawa is 7,782 meters above sea level. It is covered with snow all year round and shrouded in clouds and mist. It never reveals its true face easily. People are lucky enough to see it only for about 50 days a year.
In the end, I didn’t see Mount Nanga Bawa with my naked eyes in the Grand Canyon, but my drone flew through the clouds and took a picture of this magical mountain. #ChinaTravel #Snow Mountain #Tibet #Yarlung Zangbo River #Peach Blossom #Aerial Photography #Drone #Natural Journey #Natural Beauty #Lyingchi
Yarlung Zangbo River Suosong Village
I drove about 560 kilometers along the Yarlung Zangbo River in Tibet. For the other 15 kilometers that belong to the paid scenic area, I could only take a sightseeing bus, which cost a total of 240 yuan, of which 90 yuan was the sightseeing bus fee.
The paid Yarlung Zangbo River Scenic Area is located in Pai Town, Milin County, Nyingchi Prefecture, and requires a sightseeing bus to visit. The sightseeing bus has 4 stops along the way, which I think is the most disappointing attraction. I was too lazy to take out my camera at these four stops.
But Suosong Village on the north bank of the river is very beautiful when the peach blossoms are in full bloom, although I couldn’t see the entire Namjagbarwa Peak due to the weather. This attraction is included in the scenic area, but not included in the sightseeing bus route.
This set of photos were all taken in Suosong Village. I believe that on a sunny day, it will be much more beautiful than it is now, and the peach blossoms will also set off Mount Namjagbarwa.
In any case, Suosong Village is a place not to be missed when visiting the Yarlung Zangbo River, but it does make me feel a little unbalanced that you have to pay for it. #ChinaTravel #Tibet #Nyingchi #Yarlung Zangbo River #Mountain #Nangabawa Peak #Peach Blossom #Natural Journey #Natural Beauty
Samye Monastery, Shannan Prefecture, Tibet
Samye Monastery was first built in the 8th century during the Tubo Dynasty. It is the first monastery in Tibet to ordain monks. The buildings in the temple are arranged according to the Buddhist cosmology. The central Buddhist hall combines Tibetan, Han and Indian styles, so Samye Monastery is also called the Three-style Temple.
When I went to Samye Monastery for the first time in 2010, I had to take a ferry from Zhanang County in Shannan Prefecture (Figures 3-4). Now it only takes a few minutes to cross the Yarlung Zangbo River via the bridge.
Some of the overhead tracks of the Lhasa-Nyingchi high-speed railway are located on the south bank of the Yarlung Zangbo River and are now open to traffic. #Buddhism #Temple #TibetanBuddhism #ChinaTravel #Tibet #YarlungZangboRiver #Architecture #Check-inAttractions
