I stayed at a youth hostel (YH) in Nuremberg, southern Germany! This YH has a unique feature: it was renovated from a former castle. For that reason, both the exterior and interior of the building are impressive and stately. However, it doesn't feel old-fashioned, it has a modern atmosphere, and the facilities are sufficient, so it was a comfortable facility overall. The rooms are basically gender-segregated shared dormitories, I stayed in a room for four people. There was a shower and a toilet in the room. Breakfast was a buffet, but there was a wide selection of organic products, vegan and vegetarian menus were also available, and they were clearly labeled. I was surprised at the thoughtfulness of the hostel, which included soy milk yogurt, ham made from gelatin and vegetables, and gluten-free bread. The selection of coffee and tea was also excellent, and you could have coffee brewed in a machine. There was also a local youth group staying there that day, so it was very lively. There was a playroom for children, but it wasn't filled with toys, but with games that required intelligence, and there was a place where children could quietly enjoy themselves by themselves. Sheets and towels are left in the room (on the bed), and each person returns them to the linen room when they check out. The staff are friendly and helpful, and it's a very cozy youth hostel. Continuing from our last episode on Nuremberg visit on late September which you need to be prepared with umbrella on hand and thicker jacket because it was freezing 🥶 We save the best place for the last of course, the main event is basically these 3 places, with the first one being Weissgerbergasse, the most beautiful alley with colourful building that comes out from fairytale. To top it off the sun just came out at the right moment 😜 The second place will be Altstadt Sank Sebald, altstadt stand for old town site of Nuremberg huge annual Christmas Market which you do not want to miss. The medieval architecture bring so much history and appreciation for how well the place was preserved from 11th century ago. And last but not the least, the finale Imperial Castle. To actually enter the building and the tower you need to pay an entrance fee of 5.5 euros and it is actually worth it seeing the city from up top. What you find here is a quint medieval scene with timbered houses and cobblestone alleys. The shops that line the inner walls of Handwerkhof sell crafts, gifts, local food, drinks. Its a neat little arrangement and worth a quick look-see for those sightseeing in the southern part of Nuremburg. It is close to Nürnberg Hauptbahnof station (right across the station) and inside of it, you see many shops selling souvenirs and other handicrafts. Small but very lovely. Worth a visit. St. Lorenz (St. Lawrence) is a medieval church of the former free imperial city of Nuremberg in southern Germany. It is dedicated to Saint Lawrence. Amazing cathedral with Gothic style architecture. The building is clearly visible in this small town with few tall buildings. The twin towers looked massive from a distance, and even more imposing up close. Inside is richly decorated. Very near to the Nürnberg hbf probably takes less than a couple of minutes. This has to be a must go place if you’re in Nürnberg. This gothic cathedral in fact is probably the most prominent Lutheran church in Bavaria, and this is also likely why it was fixed so quickly after the major damages it received after WWII. This historical church began construction in 1250 and took 227 years to build not completely finished until 1477. #couplestrip #nürnberg #germanytravel

Very cozy traditional German style restaurant. Great and Super delicious local food. Best, fast and efficiency customer service. We ordered the sausage and roasted pork shoulder. They make sausage everyday and grill it manually, it tastes very fresh and yummy! The pork shoulder ‘s skin is super crispy. Perfect lunch ! The prices are reasonable for being in what is practically the center of the tourist spot in Nürnberg. The waitress can speak English. They provide English menu as-well.
