A Day in Lugano: Swiss Charm with an Italian Flair
#europetrip #switzerland #travel #thingstodo #lugano #lake #solotrip
Lugano is where Swiss precision meets Mediterranean soul, making it the perfect place for a scenic and relaxing day trip. Strolling along the lakefront promenade, I was mesmerized by the crystal-clear waters of Lake Lugano, framed by the lush mountains in the distance. A visit to Parco Ciani offers a peaceful green escape, while the charming Piazza della Riforma is ideal for enjoying an espresso and people-watching. For stunning views, take the funicular up Monte Brè or Monte San Salvatore—the panoramas are unforgettable! Whether you’re exploring art at LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura, indulging in Italian-inspired cuisine, or simply soaking in the lakeside beauty, Lugano is a must-visit Swiss gem!
Conquer the Summit: Hiking Monte San Salvatore in Lugano
#outdooradventure #travel #thingstodo #lugano #swiss #hiking
For one of the best panoramic views in Lugano, lace up your hiking boots and take on the Monte San Salvatore trail. The steep yet rewarding ascent winds through serene forests, with glimpses of Lake Lugano appearing through the trees. After about 1.5 to 2 hours, you’ll reach the summit, where a 360-degree view of the lake, Swiss Alps, and even Italy awaits. Pack a picnic or grab a bite at the mountaintop restaurant before descending—or take the funicular down if your legs need a break. If you love scenic hikes with unforgettable views, this one’s for you!

Walking around Lake Lugano is an unforgettable experience, where every trail reveals breathtaking views of the shimmering lake framed by lush hills and charming villages. I particularly loved the Sentiero di Gandria, a lakeside path that winds through olive groves and peaceful coves. The mix of serene nature and cultural stops, like the quaint village of Gandria, made it a perfect outing.
Why visit? Lake Lugano’s trails cater to all fitness levels and offer a unique blend of Mediterranean vibes and alpine beauty.
Practical tip: Start your hike early to enjoy cooler weather and consider pairing it with a boat ride back to Lugano for a relaxing finish. It’s a must for nature lovers and those seeking a peaceful retreat!

Lake Lugano, a famous holiday resort in the Southern Alps
#2024TravelReview
Travel through Switzerland and cross the border between Italy and Switzerland to the beautiful #LakeLugano, which has a mild Mediterranean climate and is planted with palm trees and citrus trees. It is a famous resort in the Southern Alps.
Lake Lugano is very large, with many attractions and towns to stay in. The first place we came to was the check-in landmark "I love Lugano". Next to it was the yacht pier, so we could take a boat to tour the lake. The weather was great and we could enjoy the beautiful scenery of Lake Lugano surrounded by mountains by boat.
A boat trip on the lake is the best way to appreciate the diverse beauty of Lake Lugano, such as the Morgote district, which has many beautiful mansions; the literary style of the Church of Santa Maria in Sasso, the charming fishing village of Gandria, etc.
There are many alpine lakes in the border area between Switzerland and Italy. In addition to Lake Lugano, there is also the famous #ComoLakeLake Como, which are all worth visiting.

Stroll along the picturesque lakeside promenade and visit Parco Ciani, a beautifully landscaped park. Explore the historic center with its charming Piazza della Riforma and visit the Lugano Arte e Cultura (LAC) center for art exhibitions.
Take the funicular up Monte Brè for breathtaking views of the city and lake, or head to Monte San Salvatore for panoramic vistas. Don’t miss a boat trip on Lake Lugano to visit the nearby village of Gandria, known for its steep streets and traditional Ticinese architecture. For a short day trip, visit the UNESCO-listed Bellinzona, famous for its medieval castles.
I highly recommend visiting Lugano for its unique blend of natural beauty, culture, and nearby attractions.#lugano #switzerland
A place of beauty and serenity
#celebratewithtrip
Lugano is in the Italian speaking part of Switzerland, in the gorgeous canton of Ticino.
Our experience in Lugano was walking along the waterfront into the Old Town. The views were spectacular. The Old Town of Lugano is a very intimate part of the city. There are lovely shops, restaurants and places to stay. We also visited the cathedral, which is directly across from the train station, is absolutely gorgeous, inside and out! We then explored the Lake Lugano, which is the ultimate highlight and the main attraction in Lugano. Who can resist swooning at lake views like this? Even if you never even go on the water, just looking at this gorgeous lake is better than therapy! The view here is spectacular!
The lake is surrounded by mountains perched with houses and interesting boundary of Italy and Switzerland. If you’re wondering what to see in Lugano in one day, then the lake is an absolute must. We might not spent that much time in Lugano, but I believe that there's more to see in this beautiful place. Best believe, I'm gonna come back here again in the future.

came to Lugano for a winter weekend, on the way had a stroll in Bellinzona and Locarno.
Delfino hotel left a good impression, with comfortable room, balcony and a comprehensive breakfast with a lot of seating and foods to chose from.
Italian feel, swiss hospitality left a good memory, comfortable walking distances to Migros (open on Sunday!)at Paradiso, and availability bicycle at hotel and city made a perfect weekend stay.#lugano #delfino
