A Day of Art in Oslo – Museums, Murals & Munch Cookies
#cityplaybook
If you love art and quiet beauty, Oslo might just surprise you. The city’s museum scene is thoughtful, bold, and beautifully curated—and it makes for the perfect day of inspiration.
I started at the National Museum, where I could have spent hours exploring Nordic design, powerful portraits, and iconic works like “The Scream” (yes, the real one!). The space itself is stunning—calm, light-filled, and so well laid out 🖼️
Next, I made my way to MUNCH, the waterfront museum dedicated to Edvard Munch. It’s bold and modern, with interactive exhibits and incredible views. But what I loved most? The café inside. They serve Munch cookies and other playful menu items that turn even lunch into an art experience ☕🍪
The museum shop is also worth checking out—packed with clever gifts and beautiful prints. Afterward, I wandered the harbor area, where the cool breeze and public art installations made the walk feel like part of the exhibition.
Why I recommend Oslo for art lovers:
・The museums are spacious, beautifully designed, and filled with personality
・Even the streets feel curated—full of sculptures, architecture, and soft, Nordic light
