If you find yourself on the island of Phuket, guidebooks will definitely recommend the area of the old town of Phuket and they will be right. It is very atmospheric and calm here, even at those moments when there are many tourists, you can always step aside a little and enjoy solitude.

Nostalgia and New Comforts: Discovering Old Phuket Town
During my time in Phuket Town, I stayed at the newly established Arco Hotel. With its fresh facilities and well-maintained amenities, the hotel provided a comfortable base for exploring the area. Located just a 15-minute walk from Old Phuket Town, it’s the perfect spot for travelers looking to dive into local culture and history.
Old Phuket Town itself is a gem – a blend of nostalgic charm and modern vibes, with beautifully preserved shophouses that transport you to the past. It’s also a paradise for café hoppers and Instagram lovers, with plenty of chic spots to snap photos or relax over a good coffee.
Must-Visit Spots for Food and Dessert:
• Torry’s Phuket Wonders: Indulge in Peranakan fusion desserts, a refreshing treat, especially on a hot day. And for an extra dose of cuteness, stop by Zara Pearl Organic nearby, where you might spot their adorable pet goat!
• Wan Fang Tea: A great spot for bubble tea lovers and delicious Chinese dishes.
• Siam Bakery & Tera Boulanger: For French-style pastries, including flaky croissants.
• The Neighbors Café: Perfect for brunch lovers.
• Champoon Boat Noodles: Just a 2-minute walk from Arco Hotel, serving flavorful Thai boat noodles and pad Thai. It’s halal-friendly too!
Nearby Places to Explore:
• Naka Weekend Market: Open only on weekends, this bustling market is a must-visit for its wide variety of street food, local crafts, live music, and lively atmosphere. From Thai classics to unique fusion dishes, it’s a paradise for foodies and a fun way to dive into local culture.

Phuket Museum
Most people know Phuket for its beaches, but a visit to Phuket should not be without a trip to Old Town. The Phuket Museum (totally free!) introduces some of Phuket’s Peranakan heritage and history as a tin mining town. The museum is housed in two separate buildings, which use to serve as a bank, and there’s an old clock tower to climb, too. This was definitely worth stopping by to learn some local history and culture.

Wat Chalong, Big Buddha and Old Phuket Town
My girlfriend and I booked a private car (supposedly) for 8 hours and the driver pick us up at our hotel with a mini bus!
We went on to visit Wat Chalong, Big Buddha and Old Phuket Town. It was raining that day and was informed by the driver that we may not be able to see the Big Buddha because the weather was very foggy, so we went to Wat Chalong first.
We had forgotten that visiting a temple will require the girls to cover up a bit, so we went to the neighbouring shops to buy a shawl for the girlfriend. So please remember to grab a shawl when you are visiting the temples there. We then spent awhile walking around the temple and climbing up the pagoda.
Undefeated, we asked the driver again if we see the Big Buddha and he drove us there to try our luck. The fog and rain was insane and we could not see the Big Buddha even at close up. All of a sudden, a gust of wind came and it revealed to us the holy buddha. It was enormous!!
Then we headed to Old Phuket Town for some food, it was amazing. We bought so many street food from the friendly vendors. My favourite one was the tiny fried shrimps and mango sticky rice!

Woo Gallery พยานแห่งกาลเวลา
The location I want to share today is in the charming old town of Phuket. Ancient buildings over tens and hundreds of years old that are still valuable with Sino-European architecture are welcoming back to the glorious past of this place.
Woo Gallery & Boutique Hotel, 2 golden Chinese characters standing tall on the wall look powerful. The black wooden door with gold patterns opens.
The interesting thing about Woo Gallery & Boutique Hotel is not only the Sino-European architecture that has been well preserved. But from the name, it can be said that this place is both a hotel (Boutique Hotel) and a museum (Gallery) that are combined. I believe that there are not many hotels in the world that have their own museum. The narrow building of Woo, about 106 meters long, is like a noodle that connects 2 roads together. The hotel side has an entrance and exit to Phang Nga Road. The museum side has an entrance and exit to Thalang Road, which I just walked through a moment ago. To meet the impressive stories of descendants who intend to preserve this ancestral home as a witness of time.

Urban seren(dip)ity of Phuket Town
Ever wondered how to find solace among crowds? At times, something as easy as looking up can do the trick. And it seems to always work in the bustling cities and towns of SEA. Not least in Phuket Town. Next time you end up in the whirlwind of tourists and locals surrounded by the incessant buzz of non-stop traffic, remember to gaze above those and you will surely get what you've been looking for.#phuket #phukettown #southeastasia #seasia #sky#hkt #oldphukettown #phuketoldtown

Wan Fang - Wan Fang
🇻🇳 wan fang
Wan Fang means "Fragrance of Thousand Miles". Premium tea recipe from Hong Kong. It's like sitting and drinking tea in Hong Kong. The drink has a mellow taste and a fragrant tea aroma.
The main takeaway menu and most of the menus are drinks and desserts. Now Wanfang Old Town has a premium chill-out area. The air-conditioned room is cool and comfortable. The shop is very beautiful. It feels like you're traveling to Hong Kong. 🍹
🇻🇳 Wanfang Old Town Wanfang Old Town (Soi Ramani, Old Town branch) has 2 branches. Another branch is located at the intersection of Khao Tom Koben.

Old Phuket..a place like no other
Unlike the rest of Thailand, Old Phuket town is just stunning at every corner. The coloured doors and buildings compliment the boutique shops and cafes in the area and you would be forgiven for thinking it is further from Patong beach than what it is...just a short 20minute scooter ride! There is so much culture here and an absolute must do when staying in the area! #thailand #oldphukettown
