Hello, today I will share an overview of Brunei and my experience of my first trip to Brunei. Before going, you must have the Bruhealth app and fill out an E-Arrival form. You must have a clear accommodation, a return flight ticket, and specify the date. Then they will ask how much money you have with you, including both your card and cash!! Brunei does not have Grab. There is only Dash, which is a bit expensive. Actually, many things here are expensive. A can of Coke costs $1. In restaurants, it will be around $2-$4Bnd. The currency here is Singapore (SGD). What I noticed is that there seems to be no scanning to pay. There is only card payment (like ATMs in our country). There is the BIBD app for people here. Brunei's national food is Ambuyat - Ambuyat is a sticky sago flour that you roll with chopsticks and dip in a sauce made with durian. Then you can swallow it. Other things are eaten with fried fish, stir-fried vegetables, and sambal, which is similar to shrimp paste chili sauce, but it is more sour in their country. #summerdestinations This is also my unforgettable moment summer trip in Brunei. Bandar Seri Begawan has its own uniqueness in terms of surprising the tourist. First thing you will be surprised is in fact they almost have NO public transport in the city. Everyone has their own cat to o around the city. This one that makes me frustrated as a tourist 😆 what a thrill hahaha Secondly, you can absolutely use Singapore Dollars as well for any transaction in the country as they have signed a memorandum for both country to use SGD currency in the country that is legal. The first time traveling to Japan with Royal Brunei Airlines (Business Class), the national airline of Brunei, with a stopover in Bandar Seri Begawan. Everything was great, from large and comfortable seats to various entertainment options, to a wide variety of quality food, beautifully presented dishes, and impressive service. Too bad there were no alcoholic beverages, but that's understandable since Brunei is a Muslim country. This was another very impressive trip. And it is also the country that is the origin of the name of the island of Borneo that white people call. - This country is the only country in Southeast Asia that is ruled by an absolute monarchy with the Sultan as both the head of state, prime minister and minister of defense and is a country that uses Islamic law to govern the country (started in 2017). - This country has a population of only 4 hundred thousand people!! - This country strictly prohibits the sale of alcohol (but you can bring it in for personal consumption, in the amount specified by law). - There is the largest floating village in the world, very big, very big. - Islam is the national religion. There are a lot of mosques. When praying, the sound is very loud. - Almost everyone in Bruneian has a private car. Everyone uses private cars to travel. Gasoline costs $0.5 per liter, about 13.5 baht, the same as Malaysia, which is super cheap. - The welfare state is very good. Everyone can call for free and get 100% free medical care. - Public transportation here is not very good. It is a mini bus. The fare is $1 each time, but it takes a long time to wait and it is very hot. Most of the people who use it are tourists and foreigners who come to work in Brunei. - There are no taxis 🚕 here to call normally. You have to call them, which is very expensive. Therefore, people like to use Dart, a car-hailing app in Brunei. - This country can use Singaporean money 100% because there is a treaty that states that the currency is equal, so you can use the Singapore dollar. - Everyone here can communicate in English well, just like Singapore! #brunei #bruneidarussalam #borneo
