After a filling dinner, we decided to take a relaxing walk near our hotel and stumbled upon the pedestrian path on Haizhu Bridge, right along the Pearl River. It turned out to be one of the most enjoyable surprises of our trip. As we made our way toward the bridge, we walked past the old ICBC bank building—a stately historical structure that stood as a reminder of Guangzhou’s rich heritage. Its preserved facade against the evening lights made for a lovely contrast to the modern city skyline. We continued our stroll up Haizhu Bridge. From the middle of the bridge, the views were simply breathtaking. Looking ahead, the Canton Tower sparkled in the distance, providing a stunning backdrop over the calm waters of the Pearl River. The night air was cool, and the atmosphere peaceful—a perfect post-dinner detour. We didn’t walk across the entire bridge, but just reaching the midpoint gave us more than enough to appreciate.
