It was an easy 26-minute JR ride from Hakata Station on the Fukuhoku Yutaka Line to reach this temple, nestled deep within a forest. My main reason for coming was to see its beautiful pond filled with hydrangea flowers. The sound of rain pattering on the leaves and my umbrella, combined with the rushing water of the waterfalls, truly added a sense of divinity to Nanzoin. How to get to Nanzoin Temple We can take the JR Sasaguri Line and get off at Kido Nanzoin-mae Station. The fare is about 380 yen. The highlight of the temple is the reclining Buddha statue, which is 41 meters long, 11 meters high, and weighs 300 tons. You can enter the Buddha statue inside for a 500 yen entrance fee.
