Perhaps the word 'warung' (Indonesian for "small cafe/eatery") would be a misnomer for this Ubudian restaurant, due to the spaciousness of its interior befitting a Balinese palace. Despite its central location on Ubud main street, its expansive interior remains a secret until one walks into it, for its resplendent façades are no giveaways to this fact. It has two entrances, three storeys, antique wooden furniture, a sprawling outdoor seating area, two kitchens and two bars, adobe walls decorated with framed paintings, and high thatched ceilings and roofs. Its menu offers a good array of Balinese dishes and drinks - including the warung's renowned 'Nasi Campur Langit' which means 'Mixed Rice from the Sky', blue rice, infused with 'eagle flower' and served with a round of Balinese traditional side dishes served in a wicker basket, lined with banana leaves. Also a specialty of this restaurant is the pay as you wish 'arak' dispenser booth, where you could get a taste of this delectable Balinese liquor. Often in tourist destinations you will find a number of places calling themselves warung. Many of which are mostly focussing on foreigners and that keyword to work for them. With forest warung, that is not the case. Firstly, it is literally set inside the forest. This is a family run warung slightly inside from the main road.It has three to four tables and can accommodate 10 to 15 people at a time. Prices are very low and food is cooked in their home kitchen which makes it special. The USP of the place is their hospitality. You will get a true feel of sitting inside a Jungle and having. Don't expect a fan or AC as you will be eating right hand side jungle. To be fair this is not a restaurant but a real Warung. I would recommend visiting them. #indonesiatrip #deliciousfood #warung

This place had such a friendly vibe going. We could sense there were a lot of repeat customers by the way they greeted the staff and chit chatted people working here. It makes you feel really nice and comfortable. The place may not look super fancy from the street but the food was delicious and the staff were very attentive. We had dinner ranging from seafood to ribs and everyone was happy. It tasted fresh and the preparation methods were interesting. The owner upon noticing that we were trying to figure out how to go back to the hotel, he dropped us home in their pickup van. That was a nice touch. #indonesiatrip #bali #warung

This place is the best. During my stay in Ubud, the food was so good that I went there every day. Everything is delicious. The most delicious is the fish paste soup and curry, which are very tasty and very cheap. The curry is different from the typical Japanese curry, it is a soup curry full of vegetables and uses a lot of spices, which makes it great for sweating. 100% satisfaction. Other menu items are also very cheap and delicious, such as Balinese coffee for 10,000 rupiah, curry set for 30,000 rupiah, hamburger for 30,000 rupiah, pumpkin soup for 20,000 rupiah, and fruit juice for 12,000 rupiah. It is a little out of the way, and it is a famous restaurant that only regulars know, so it is difficult to enter because there are few people, but the food is excellent! The dishes and presentation are both tasteful and delicious. Despite the local prices, I ended up ordering a lot. There isn't a better way to experience Perlis than to have a local breakfast by a paddy field. We arrived at Warung Tepi Sawah a little over 8 in the morning but it's already brimming with people. Cars of customer were parked on both sides of the road, causing a mild congestion but the view that await you will definitely be worth the wait. We need to wait until there is vacancy because all the tables is occupied. The food is variety and some are good and some are so so.
