Singapore is a city that left me with mixed feelings, but overall, it was a memorable experience. What I absolutely loved was the spirit of the city—there’s an energy here that’s hard to describe, a perfect blend of tradition and modernity. The vibrant ancient town, with its colorful shophouses and rich history, was a delight to explore. I also appreciated the sleek new buildings and modern skyline, which gave the city a dynamic, forward-looking vibe. The peaceful atmosphere in many areas, especially during weekday mornings, and the consistently sunny weather made walking around very enjoyable. And the food—simply incredible. From hawker centers to fine dining, the flavors were diverse, rich, and unforgettable. However, there were aspects that disappointed me. The number of tourists was overwhelming, especially in popular spots, which made some areas feel crowded and less authentic. I was also surprised by the lack of cleanliness in certain neighborhoods. While Singapore has a reputation for being spotless, I expected streets and public areas to look newer and more maintained. The noise level, especially on weekends, was a bit too much for my liking. Public places were often packed, with people even sitting on sidewalks, which took away from the city's otherwise orderly image. Despite these issues, Singapore is a city worth visiting. It offers a unique experience where old meets new, and where cultures blend in fascinating ways. With a little more space and calm, it would be nearly perfect.#localguides #singapore

Must-visit places: 1. Merlion Park How to get there: The closest MRT station to the Merlion Park is Raffles Place (EW14/ NS26). A must visit in Singapore. 2. Gardens by the Bay How to get there: Alight at Bayfront MRT Station (CE1/DT16). Take Exit B and follow the underground linkway. Tips: The best time of day to visit Gardens by the Bay would be late afternoon or evening so you can catch the sunset views of the Singapore cityscape. Due to my limited time, I just spent 2hours there. 3. Clark Quay - Singapore river How to get there: By MRT the closest station is Clarke Quay Station on the North-East Line (Purple Line). Once you alight at Clarke Quay Station, take Exit E directly into The Central shopping mall which is connected to the Clarke Quay area. Haw Paw Villa is definitely my favorite spot in Singapore With the vibrant and colorful statues built by the former owners, the villa actually shows the world view of Chinese. The statues are not only decorations but each are showing some important values in Chinese culture, for example filial piety and harmony. What is more interesting, it would be the hell museum. It shows the 18 levels and punishment In the Taoist Hell. The exhibition of Life and Death before the gateway to Hell is super useful to understand the context for not only Taoism but also other religions like Islam and Hindu. I got to smell and experiment with different essential oils, blending base, and top notes until I found something that felt “me.” The staff were super friendly and patient, guiding me through the process without making it feel overly technical. We decided to have a look around the city and it was breathtaking. The Gardens by the Bay were so pretty🩷. Everyday they do a light show in the evening and goes on for around 20 minutes. Make sure you get there early as it can get super busy with no place to sit down! Marina Bay is so beautiful to watch the sunset and so relaxing to take in all the views of the city. Also visit The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands shopping mall. I think this may have been the biggest shopping mall i have ever seen! It has a casino and a nightclub there (this puts it into perspective of how big it is). You can take a boat ride IN THE MALL! yes in the mall! how crazy? We did all of this without spending a penny. Singapore is a place suitable for Citywalk. As you walk slowly, there are always some eye-catching and special things that quietly appear before your eyes. How to find this color? Let's go! A route that can be completed in one morning: 📍First stop: Kampong Glam [Photos 4, 6] Kampong Glam is a residential area. Walking along this road, it is not difficult to discover Singapore's delicious food and small shops full of artistic features. Passing by here, you will find some people sketching, full of artistic sense. There are also some very beautiful and realistic murals on the walls of this area. You may want to stop and take a photo with them. In addition, the house is painted in different colors, which is very Singaporean. 📍Second stop: Sultan Mosque⛪️【Photo 7】 The Sultan Mosque is a famous mosque in Singapore. During its opening hours on weekdays, you can take off your shoes and visit, but you cannot enter the hall. Out of respect for the occasion, you must wear long trousers/skirts when visiting. We happened to arrive at this place that day, so we didn't prepare anything, but the church is also very good. You can borrow a green Islamic garment at the door. After entering and visiting, I found it really unforgettable. 📍Third stop: Haji Lane (Haji Lane) [Photo 5] There are many unique shops in Haji Lane, such as ethnic clothing, postcards, souvenir shops, etc. When passing by here, don’t forget to look up at the decorations outside the shops. Each shop has its own masterpiece! 📍Fourth stop: Bugis Street Art Lane [Photo 3] Walk a distance from Haji Lane and you will see this colorful staircase. After passing through some alleys and taking the elevator of the factory building opposite, you can reach it. 📍Fifth stop: Old Jubilee Street Police Station [Pictures 1, 2] The building has a total of 927 colorful windows, which look particularly eye-catching against the backdrop of blue sky and white clouds and the green grass next to it. This is a popular check-in spot. The ship is a luxurious tallship which looks like a classic galleon ship that sails around Sentosa coast. We opted for a classy seven course dinner which includes drinks. Onboard entertainment is an acoustic show that is very relaxing as we did our fine dining. You can also visit the cabin and can meet the ship captain too. The very thoughtful part would be the air conditioned section between each enclosure to let visitors escape from the heat a bit!
