Amanohashidate & Ine Travel Log
Amanohashidate & Ine Travel Log
Today's trip started with excitement because it was the day we were going to experience "One of the Three Best Views of Japan" at Amanohashidate and stop by the old fishing village at Ine.
🚅 Travel to Amanohashidate
This morning, we took the Limited Express Hashidate No. 3 from Kyoto, heading to Amanohashidate. The journey took about 2 hours. The train passed through the countryside of Kyoto, gradually changing to a view of mountains alternating with rivers. The atmosphere was peaceful and refreshing.
When we arrived at Amanohashidate Station, the air was cool and the sky was clear. We took a bus that stopped in front of Amanohashidate Eki to Ine, a fishing village hidden in nature.
🧭 Ine - Old Fishing Village
Arriving at Ine felt like traveling back in time. This small and quiet village was lined with "Funaya" (boat houses) built by the sea. Each house had a lower floor as a ship storage warehouse and an upper floor as a residence.
🗺️ Shichimendou Temple
We stopped by Shichimendou Temple, a small temple located on a hill. You can see the view of Ine Village and the vast sea.
🍱 Lunch at Restaurant Bar Nagisa
It's lunch time. We choose to go to Alex's restaurant - Restaurant Bar Nagisa, which is located by the sea. The menu we ordered was fresh fish caught from the Sea of Japan, served with hot Japanese rice and miso soup. It was slightly salty and had a fragrant smell of the sea. The atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and friendly.
🧭 Amanohashidate - The Bridge to Heaven
After we were full, we returned to Amanohashidate, our main destination for the day.
🗺️ View Land - The Legendary Viewpoint
We chose to go up to View Land, which is a viewpoint where you can see Amanohashidate from the most beautiful angle! When we reached the top, the view in front of us was amazing - the long, winding sandbar that looked like a dragon floating in the middle of the sea, the clear blue sky reflecting on the water like a painting.
🗺️ Take the Chairlift
For a full experience, we chose to take the Chairlift down instead of the closed gondola. The atmosphere was great. The cool wind blew gently across our faces. With a natural view that gradually changes from the mountains to the coast
🗺️ Tango-Amanohashidate National Park
We walked on the 3.6-kilometer-long Heaven Bridge, lined with pine trees providing shade along the way. While walking, we found a shop selling shrimp crackers, so we bought some and threw them for the seagulls to swoop down and eat from our hands – it was a fun and memorable sight.
🍱 Dinner: Choose a delicious meal before heading back
Before heading back, we chose a restaurant for dinner.
Kuji Kara Ramen in Amanohashidate – a large bowl of ramen packed with rich flavors, perfect for recharging after a day of walking around.
Or if heading back to Kyoto, you can stop by a hot udon shop in front of Kyoto Station or Matsuya Toji Restaurant, which has delicious and inexpensive rice sets.
🚅 Travel back to Kyoto
We chose to take the Hashidate No.8 Limited Express at 16:52 from Amanohashidate Station back to Kyoto Station. The view out the window was still as beautiful as ever, ending the trip with great memories.
