We dropped by Life Museum early in the morning before heading back to Chiang Mai. It’s actually a coffee shop, not a museum 😆 and was just a short drive 5-10 min from where we stayed at Yamee Homestay. Unfortunately… coffee not available yet when we got there (too early, I guess 😂), so no coffee fix for us. But we hung around a bit to take some pictures because the spot itself is actually really scenic. The view is meant to be a breathtaking shot of two mountains 🌄🌄—but since it was crop burning season, everything was hazy and covered in air pollution 😷. A bit of a letdown, but we could still imagine how amazing it would look on a clear day! One of the highlights of my Chiang Rai trip was definitely visiting Wat Rong Suea Ten, also known as the Blue Temple. The moment I arrived, I was blown away by the vibrant blue color of the entire temple—it’s so unique and absolutely stunning in person! ✨ The details here are incredible. From the golden accents to the beautiful, modern murals inside, everything feels so fresh and different from the usual temples I’ve seen. I really loved the big white Buddha statue sitting calmly in the middle—it gave me such a peaceful vibe. 🕊️ I went in the morning when it wasn’t too crowded, which was perfect for enjoying the place and snapping lots of photos 📸. The temple isn’t very big, so you can comfortably walk around and explore in about 30–45 minutes. Don’t forget to dress modestly—shoulders and knees covered. If you forget, they have wraps you can borrow at the entrance. Also, there are cute little stalls outside selling drinks and local snacks, and I had the best butterfly pea ice cream there! 🍦💙 If you’re in Chiang Rai, I totally recommend making a quick stop here. It’s an easy ride from the city and you can even combine it with the White Temple and the Black House for a full day of temple hopping. There’s also a beautiful 9-storey pagoda nearby that adds even more charm to the place. I’ve always dreamed of staying somewhere with a stunning mountain view in Chiang Rai—but most places were way over my budget at $100+ per night. Luckily, I stumbled upon Yamee Homestay, a real hidden gem that offers incredible views for just $50–60 per night. The coffee was absolutely superb, just the way I like it—smooth and bitter. Honestly, every cup I had in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai was amazing. You can walk around to find some local spots for meals, but don’t expect fancy restaurants in the area. It’s all about simplicity and charm here. 🏔️ Note: Getting to the homestay can be a bit tricky. It’s located up the mountain with narrow roads, and to top it off, our car took the wrong turn 😅. It was created by artist Chalermchai Kositpipat and is a significant cultural and tourist attraction. Most things in the temple have hidden meanings and some cool pop-culture references! Definitely very unique. 🕗Open every day from 08:00 to 17:00 💵 Entrance fee is 100 Thai baht (~$2,5) Tips for visiting: 🚁No drone zone: Flying drones in the temple's area is strictly prohibited without permission. Don't give tourists a bad reputation by ignoring the rules and trying to fly your drone out of sight. 🥻Modest dress code: As with many temples in Thailand, it's important to dress modestly. Avoid shorts, sleeveless shirts, and low-cut tops. They check pretty strictly at the entrance. ➡️Follow the direction of travel: You can only cross the bridge at the entrance once. Security was telling people off over the loudspeaker when they tried to cross back. It's also against the spirit of the place, you are only supposed to cross hell once. 👟Footwear: You'll need to remove your shoes before entering the main temple building, so it's a good idea to wear easy-to-remove footwear. 📸Arriving early doesn't really help here: There was already a queue at opening time. #timetotravel North of Chiang Rai is Mae Fah Luang Garden on the mountain of Doi Tung. It’s near Wat Phra That Doi Tung so we visited both. Proper dressing is required: no shorter than the knees and no showing of the stomach. Entrance ticket is 90 Baht and it’s worth. I walk a few steps and the view changes, so beautiful in many angles. Lucky me to be here and seen the beautiful Lanna architecture which is highly depicted in this place, the Baan Dam Museum. The Lanna style roofs are amazing with different styles and designs.The black color of the houses have a mysterious effect. The collection of arts are eye catching and the images are unique, quite odd and deep. I am intrigued by the art's message. I think the artist is a genius. The place is well maintained and clean. The atmosphere during the trip to Pha Hee village was very good. There was fog covering the entire way. Even though it was a foggy view, it was very beautiful. The flowers were blooming beautifully. This is even though I didn't go in the winter. It still felt good. But the road to the village might be narrow or rough. Drive carefully. This village has a village sign that clearly indicates the identity and culture of the village. It's local style. There's a swing, but you can't play it anymore. There's a ghost gate, which is a sacred object of the village. It's believed that if you walk through the gate, you'll be lucky and safe. But I didn't dare. The gate is too scary. 😅 Actually, it's good to come and see the view, but when I went, I only saw fog. 🤣 In addition to the view, there's also a bamboo bridge.
