Instead of going to the popular London Bagel, I went to the Hongdae store on New York Bagel Ave. Seeing green onion bagel but not having the courage to try, opted back to Cheese potato bagel. Be prepared for the big crowds and bumping into people. If traveling with kids please keep them close at all times. 🎶Musical lights: there are crowds in front recording the musical and enjoying hot coco. The New Jeans pop-up store has been running in Korea since July 11th. I happened to be in Korea on the 11th so I decided to go. When I got there around noon, there was a line of men and women of all ages. To get in you have to get a numbered ticket and wait. The wait was an astounding 1700 minutes. In reality, you don't have to wait that long, but I couldn't wait that long so I went the next day. The next day, I went early in the morning and was able to get in before dusk. This airport was closed during Covid 19 and newly refurbished and reopened recently. The check in area was not refurbished but other areas have a new facelift and is beautiful. The shopping experience has been enhanced with the new facelift. The ground floor is a square with all branded shops and right in the middle is the beauty section. The food section is on the 1st floor that includes McDonald’s, Starbucks, Paul and etc. The gates and waiting area are also newly refurbished with a whole new waiting experience. Seafood at Kaikoura Seafood BBQ was amazing. The highlight of the meal was the crayfish which were fresh, huge and meaty. Never have I ever seen a crayfish that was way bigger than a lobster. It tasted as good as it looked! The seafood platter was great too with a great variety of prawns, crayfish fritters, white bait fritters, fish and rice. It was a really satisfying meal. Crayfish was about NZD 225, good for 4 pax to share. Platter was NZD 98. The stall is just beside the road and faces the sea. Free seating. Missing Japan and Thailand? Head to Bangkok, they have recently build a Japan town up north of suvarnabhumi airport approx 30mins drive away. There is no MRT here but this is a both a tourists and local attraction where only transportation via Car and Tour Buses only. This place is indeed relatively very new, some parts of the area are still under construction but almost 75% has been completed. The architectural and paint works are all about Japan, even the food sold here like goyzas, bingsu, desserts, Japanese bbq, takoyaki are all towards the Japanese cusine. This is a good place for photo taking especially when it's still relatively empty, also there are little fishes and small kois swimming around the little drainages where we too can walk over via the many man made bridges. There are also kimonos that you can rent for photo taking to have the full experience. Parking here is free and there are ample parking spaces, so you need not worry.
