St. Andrew's Church is one of the oldest churches in Mumbai, originally built by Portuguese Jesuits in 1575. The church has a Portuguese-style facade.
The architecture of the church is very beautiful. It is a Roman Catholic church under the Deanery of Bandra in Mumbai and was the only church there until the first quarter of the 17th century. The interior of the church is simple with wooden benches, golden altar, side altars, windows pulpit, etc. The main altar has a barrel vaulted ceiling. There are gravestones inside and outside the church. Outside the church, there are statues of Jesus Christ and a crucifix. Mumbai CST Railway Station Review 🏛️🚉
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), formerly known as Victoria Terminus, is one of Mumbai’s most iconic landmarks. This historic railway station is a stunning blend of Victorian Gothic and Indian architecture, with intricate stone carvings, stained glass windows, and towering spires that make it feel more like a palace or cathedral than a transport hub.
Inside, the atmosphere is both grand and chaotic. The soaring ceilings, arches, and detailed interiors showcase its rich heritage, while the hustle and bustle reflect the vibrant life of Mumbai. It serves as a major hub for both local and long-distance trains, making it one of the busiest stations in India.
While the architecture is breathtaking—especially when lit up at night—be prepared for crowds, especially during rush hours. The station can get extremely packed, and navigating through can be overwhelming for first-time visitors. Cleanliness varies by area; some parts are well-maintained, while others can be less tidy.
Facilities include restrooms, dormitories, ticket counters, and food stalls selling local snacks like vada pav. There's also a small heritage gallery that gives insight into the station's history, perfect for those interested in the cultural side.
Overall, Mumbai CST is a must-visit for its architectural beauty and historical value. It’s a true symbol of Mumbai—chaotic, energetic, yet deeply rooted in culture. ✨🏙️🚆

While on vacation in Mumbai, I was staying at Hotel Shabana and one morning I had an idea to visit the Taj Mahal so I started looking for the best way to get there. I decided to take the train from Chhatrapati Shivaji Station to Agra. I booked my ticket online and chose a comfortable train for the long journey which took about 16 hours. On the train, I sat by the window and watched the changing landscape between the city and the town and enjoyed the local cuisine served on the train.

I reached Agra Cantonment early in the morning and was greeted by the quiet atmosphere of the city. I hired a cab to Taj Mahal and at his doorstep I was very excited. I bought the ticket and went through the gate and suddenly this amazing landmark appeared in front of me, standing tall in white marble reflecting the sunlight in a picturesque way.
I walked around the main square, approached the stone-carved walls and contemplated the delicate details that make it a rare masterpiece. I couldn’t resist capturing the moment, so I took many pictures from different angles, some for the front and others reflecting in the waters of the pond. I sat for a while in the surrounding gardens, enjoying the quiet atmosphere, before entering the main temple where Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal lie in state, and taking in the beauty of the history that surrounds it.
After wandering and contemplating for a few hours, I headed to a nearby restaurant to sample some local cuisine. Then I returned to the train station to prepare to return to Mumbai with unforgettable memories of this wonderful experience.
Ganpati Bappa morya
Participating in Ganpati Visarjan was a truly exhilarating and memorable experience. The air was filled with enthusiasm as the vibrant processions made their way through the streets, accompanied by the rhythmic beats of traditional dhol drums. The sight of the beautifully adorned idols of Lord Ganesha was awe-inspiring.
As I joined the procession, I couldn't help but feel a strong sense of unity and devotion among the participants. People from various backgrounds and age groups came together to celebrate this auspicious occasion. It was a unique blend of spirituality and cultural celebration.
The immersion ceremony itself was a spectacle to behold. The chanting of hymns and prayers created a serene atmosphere, and as the idols were gently placed into the water, it felt like a profound moment of bidding farewell to the beloved deity. The colorful flowers and offerings added to the visual splendor.
What struck me the most was the commitment to environmental consciousness. The use of eco-friendly idols and materials reflected a collective effort to protect our natural surroundings. It was heartening to see this eco-conscious approach amidst the festivities.
Overall, the experience of participating in Ganpati Visarjan left a deep impression on my heart. It was a blend of devotion, cultural richness, and a reminder of the need to cherish our traditions while caring for our environment.#trip #temples #Mumbai
🛕 Temple That Rocks 🪨
#localescapes
The Kailasa is a great monolithic rock cut temple isolated from the surrounding rock and excavated from top to bottom and scooped out all through from outside to inside. It is said that ten generations worked for it and took more than 200 years for its completion. 😮
The temple was planned and begun under the Rastrakuta King Dantidurga (735-757 A.D.) and the major work went on in the reign of Krishna I (757-773A.D.). The artistic activities of Kailasa were carried out in several phases and spread over many reigns of the Rastrakuta Rulers. This cave is locally known as Kailasa, the abode of Siva the patron deity of the temple. Kailasa is a temple complex, with all essential elements of temple , including main shrine, Nandi shrine, gateway, surrounding cloisters and subsidiary shrines. The temple is richly carved with niches, pilasters, windows and cornices. The whole temple is decorated with gigantic images of deities, amorous couples, friezes of epic scenes alongwith faunal, floral and geometrical designs. After completion of the temple there is evidence of renewed plaster and painting in about 9 th - 11 th centurles A. D. 👀
Various sculpture carved here in the temple are not there by accident, but by deliberate design. Every sculpture has a meaning and a purpose. The two elephants and free standing Pillars of Victory in courtyard reflect Rashtrakuta's supremacy and power. The figures of Sankha-Nidhi, Padma-Nidhi and the panel of Gajalaxmi in courtyard symbolize their prosperity. While the figures of river goddess Ganga,Yamuna, saraswati, symbollze the Purity, Devotion and Knowledge respectively. The enormous animals supporting the superstructure of Kailasa show the great importance given for the animal world in the Hindu mythology. The whole temple complex is surrounded by a raised pillar corridor decorated with huge panels of mythological stories. 📜
Tips and Tricks ⁉️
🚌 Kailasa cave complex is easily accessible by public bus from Ellora. Go to "Ellora Gaon / T Point / Malojiraje Chowk" bus stop and ask for the next bus that goes there. Double check with the driver to make sure you're on the right bus.
🌄 Avoid the crowds and queues by planning your trip as early as possible.
👨🍳Next to the complex you'll find many eateries so you won't stay hungry.
Enjoy!💚💙❤️

Mumbai - 🇮🇳 The largest trading port at the Gateway of India
Mumbai #mumbai is the largest trading port in West India 🇮🇳.
The historic and majestic India Gate is located at the harbor. It is a recommended itinerary to take a sightseeing boat to enjoy it from the sea. There are also foreign and local tourists on the shore wearing Western dresses or traditional Indian costumes, leaving beautiful memories and pictures in front of the square here, as if telling people that this place is always prosperous.
Mumbai has various consumption levels and different cuisines because of tourists and business people from many places. We chose to charter a car for a day, and the driver enthusiastically assisted in taking pictures, which made this trip more exciting.
When sightseeing in the city of Mumbai, we happened to pass by the Central Station and the Post Office. In front of the magnificent British-style building, I took pictures of the bustling passers-by. You can try to leave a deep picture like me.

Ganesha chaturthi is a yearly festival where statues of the god Lord Ganesha are made, put in an elaborate shrine around which celebrations are held and then released into a body of water. It is believed that this time is when the god can visit the earth before being returned to heaven.
