Trip Moments Recommendations
🧘♀️✨ A Day on Lantau Island – From the Clouds to the Coast ✨🏝️
Took a little break from the city buzz and spent a peaceful day exploring Lantau Island — and wow, it was soul-refreshing 💛🌿
📍 Big Buddha (Tian Tan Buddha) – Climbed all 268 steps (yes, my legs still remember 😂) to stand beneath one of the world’s largest seated Buddhas. The views? Majestic. The vibe? Pure serenity 🧘♂️🙏
🌬️ Pro tip: Take the Ngong Ping 360 cable car for panoramic views that’ll steal your breath and fill your camera roll 🚠📸
🐟 Tai O Fishing Village – Just a short bus ride away, this quiet village felt like stepping back in time. Stilt houses over water, locals selling dried seafood, and the best grilled squid I’ve ever had 🐙🔥
Took a little boat ride through the village — and even spotted a pink dolphin from afar (lucky moment? maybe 😍)
💬 This was a totally different side of Hong Kong — calm, cultural, and full of character. Highly recommend making the trip if you're craving something slower and more soulful.

Local Vibes in Sham Shui Po
[Travel Blog] Half a Day in Sham Shui Po – Local Eats, Culture & Charm
I spent a few hours exploring Sham Shui Po, one of Hong Kong’s most authentic neighborhoods.
Started with a peaceful visit to Kwan Tai Temple, where locals pray for justice, luck, and health.
Then came the food —
• Rice rolls from Hop Yik Tai
• Crispy roast duck noodles
• Warm tofu pudding from Kung Wo Tofu Factory
• And an egg tart from a mystery bakery — still tasty even hours later!
I wandered through Apliu Street and Fuk Wing Street Markets, filled with electronics, vintage finds, and everything in between.
Sham Shui Po shows a raw, authentic side of Hong Kong – full of flavor, character, and charm. It’s not flashy, but it’s real. Definitely worth half a day!

Sham Shui Po – Grit, Bargains & Real Hong Kong Vibes
If you want to experience the real, unfiltered side of Hong Kong, head to Sham Shui Po. It’s not flashy like Central or Tsim Sha Tsui — but that’s exactly what makes it so special.
I wandered through Apliu Street’s tech stalls, fashion alleys in Cheung Sha Wan, and got lost in rows of fabric shops and bargain bins. The place is a treasure trove for DIY lovers, photographers, and anyone who enjoys a good rummage. The energy is amazing- locals hustling, aunties bargaining, food stalls dishing out cha chaan teng classics and street snacks with zero pretension.
It reminded me that Hong Kong is more than skyline views — it’s in places like Sham Shui Po where you feel its heartbeat.
