Kampung Batik Gedong is an unique tourist destination in Semarang City. This place actually is the local shopping center for beautiful Batik fabrics. But, because its instagrammable place, Kampung Batik now becomes a must visit tourist destination in Semarang. Batik Keris is wellknown for being one of Indonesia Seller of Batik art and fashion. They sell Batik in lots of things : dress, t-shirts, office dress, party dress, table stopper, napkin, elegant masks, puppets, bags, etc. Here in Solo, the Batik Keris museum has 3 parts of buildings : Museum Heritage, Store, Keris Cafe & Kitchen. Delicious foods, beautiful interiors and buildings. Anyone coming to Solo MUST visit this place. The museum heritage is a beautiful renovation of old house, they call it "rumah lowo" meaning : house of bats, because it was abandoned house and o ly bats lived there. It takes 4 years to renovate the house, and more than just renovation, it involves many people from architect, engineering, interior designer, also finance. The owners of Batik Keris also display their valuable arts of batik here, the most special, some of them are more worthy than money because it is a collaboration of art between them and some of professional and good name people. Walking into the stairs, stepping on to the entrance door, touching the walls, embracing the moments - I imagine the living human has lived in the house, it is beautiful, full of romance and arts and life. The House itself is a rememberance of Batik Keris's family. We hope their descendants will raise their flag higher, and not forget what their ancestor has done. Thank you. The history of Batik at Trusmi Village is believed to have been initiated by an Islamic religious leader by the name of Ki GedeTrusmi who was a loyal follower of Sunan Gunung Jati (one of the Wali Songo or the 9 Guardians of Islam who first spread Islam on Java Island). KI GedeTrusmi is said to have been the one who taught the people the art of batik while spreading Islam across the region. Besides being immortalized through the name of the village, Ki GedeTrusmi today remains very highly honored by the local inhabitants.
