Break the curse in Tanah Lot, Bali !
#2024wish
This spot is a must-visit for anyone who visits Bali for the first time! True enough, I was in awe by the unique rock formation and the view! Tanah Lot actually means the rock 🪨 formation just off the coast. On top of it is where the Ancient Hindu Shrine that sits on.
I could hear the waves crashing against the rocks at high tide, and the setting is sublimely mystical to look at any time of day. Lucky for me, I went to Tanah Lot during low tide and I had the chance to walk out onto the rocks to get a better look at the Tanah Lot Temple from the shore.
It was said that unmarried couples who go to Tanah Lot in Bali would breakup according to local superstition due to the curse casted by a Java Princess who got debate back then. Anyway, it’s a truly incredible island brimming with so much history, culture and beauty so do not skip this spot!
In 2024, my wish is to go to more places that have rich history. I want to go to China to learn more about ancient cultures in 2024!

Tanah Lot Temple, Bali - Land in the Sea
#wheretogo
Tanah Lot Temple is one of the major attractions in Bali. The beach at Tanah Lot has black volcanic sand, and the whole setting is mystical. The temple really does look like it’s floating on the sea.
I visited the Tanah Lit during low tide so managed to walk out to the rock and get a closer look at the wooden temple buildings, which are just 30 meters from the shore. As it’s seated above the sea, there was more soothing cold breeze flowing throughout the beach. I also got to enjoy the best views of Tanah Lot temple from the cliff terrace near the temple, where the island can be seen from above and watch the waves crashing on it.The whole experience was holy and blissful. #tanahlottemplebali #bali #timetotravel
Tanah Lot, a seaside temple 🌅 in Bali
Normally, we expect the authenticity of tourist attractions and many times we feel that it is not as expected, except for this place which exceeded our expectations quite a bit. It is the best place to sit and watch the sunset. 🌅
For those who have not been there yet and have the chance to go, we recommend going in the evening because the sea level will be lower and you can walk into the base of the temple.
PS. I like it so much that I searched Wikipedia to add to it because I personally read it and was amazed that the real thing could not tell where the fake stones were!!! 😄
Currently, more than one-third of Tanah Lot is made of synthetic stones that are decorated to look like and blend in with natural stones.
