While exploring Hatyai, I stumbled upon this gem called Pakmornalo Naisuan — and wow, it turned out to be one of the most memorable meals of the trip.
It’s located just a short walk from Lee Garden Plaza, tucked away on a quieter street. The restaurant itself isn’t fancy — open-air, simple decor — but the food? Next level.
I went straight for their signature bamboo seafood platter, which is basically a feast served in a giant bamboo tube. It came loaded with prawns, mussels, squid, fish, and soaked in this spicy, tom yum-style broth. Super aromatic, and they even bring it out with dry ice so it arrives looking like something out of a food show. Total Instagram moment.
I also tried their rice rolls (kind of like Thai-style chee cheong fun), filled with yam paste and minced pork. The texture was super soft and the flavors were really comforting. You can tell everything is freshly made.
One cool thing is that you can also build your own noodle bowl — pick your type of noodle, your soup base (tom yum is the winner), and they’ll prep it on the spot. It’s really customizable, which I love.
The place gets busy, so I’d suggest coming early. I went around 11AM and some of the popular dishes were already starting to run low. Also, heads up — it’s cash only and no aircon, but honestly the food makes it all worth it.
If you’re in Hatyai and want something a little different from the usual street eats, this spot is worth checking out.
