Riverside Bliss & Awe-inspiring Temple Views, My Riva Arun Experience!
#bangkokhotel#watarun#riverside
I had an incredible stay at Riva Arun Bangkok last month. The location is unbeatable, right by the Chao Phraya River with stunning views of Wat Arun, especially at sunset.
This hotel and suites has a boutique charm with a stylish and contemporary design that blends beautifully with its historic surroundings.
My room was clean, well-equipped, and cozy, with a balcony that offered a amazing view. The bed was comfortable, and everything from check-in to housekeeping was seamless.
One of the highlights was the rooftop restaurant. The food offers great variety and is absolutely delicious, plus dining with a panoramic view of the temples and river was a truly memorable experience.
The staff were warm, helpful, and went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable. Whether it was arranging transportation or giving local tips, they were always courteous and efficient.
Riva Arun is a perfect spot for travelers who want to explore the cultural heart of Bangkok while enjoying comfort and tranquility. I’d definitely recommend it and hope to return soon.

Title: Bangkok – The Beating Heart of Thailand
#cityplaybook
Bangkok, Thailand’s vibrant capital, is a city of dynamic contrasts—where ancient temples sit beside towering skyscrapers, and street food vendors thrive under the neon lights of luxury malls. Known as Krung Thep in Thai, Bangkok is more than just a transit hub; it’s a cultural and sensory experience that captivates visitors from around the world.
At the core of Bangkok’s charm are its majestic temples, including the dazzling Grand Palace, the sacred Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha), and the riverside Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn). The Chao Phraya River weaves through the city, offering picturesque ferry rides and a glimpse into traditional Thai life along its banks.
The city's energy is undeniable. From Chatuchak Weekend Market—one of the world’s largest open-air markets—to high-end shopping centers like ICONSIAM and Siam Paragon, Bangkok is a paradise for shoppers. Food lovers can indulge in everything from 20-baht pad thai on the street to Michelin-starred dining experiences.
Bangkok is also famous for its nightlife, with rooftop bars like Vertigo and Sky Bar offering sweeping views, while areas like Khao San Road and Sukhumvit buzz with international vibes. For a break from the pace, Lumphini Park provides a peaceful green escape in the heart of the city.
Whether you're in search of culture, cuisine, adventure, or wellness, Bangkok offers a vivid, unforgettable journey into the heart of Thailand.

Bangkok fast trip
My first time in Bangkok, I wanted to see as many touristic place as possible.
📍Chinatown
📍King Power Mahanakhon
📍 Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan
To me for a 2 days trip, it’s the best to do.
Best view on the city skyline, river view and dynamic popular area.
On my opinion, the street food in Chinatown is not that clean, try to avoid it if you are not used to street food in Asia.

Best Moment at Wat Arun
Wat Arun, also known as the Temple of Dawn, is one of the most iconic landmarks in Bangkok. Its stunning riverside location and shimmering porcelain-covered spires are even more breathtaking at sunset. Climbing up the steep steps rewards you with a panoramic view of the Chao Phraya River and nearby temples.
It’s peaceful, photogenic, and a must-visit for both history lovers and Instagrammers!
【📸 Travel Notes of Wat Arun in Bangkok|Stunning beauty from different angles】
On the second day in Bangkok, I decided to spend the afternoon at Wat Arun. Take a boat from Saphan Taksin BTS Station and sail along the Chao Phraya River. With the gentle river breeze blowing, you can see the towering tower from afar, which makes people look forward to it.
Currently, the Temple of Arun only offers on-site ticket purchases, and the ticket price for foreign tourists is 200 baht per person. After entering the temple area, I found that there was a constant stream of people here. Each side of the tower was full of different surprises. Looking closely at the tower, the colorful porcelain pieces and exquisite shell collages were intertwined. The intricate carvings and details made people involuntarily take a few more photos. As I climbed up the steps of the tower, my vision gradually widened and I could see the magnificent scenery of the Chao Phraya River and downtown Bangkok. I couldn't help but sigh in admiration.
However, the most impressive view is at dusk. I took a boat to the small pavilion on the other side and chose a seat facing the river. As the sun gradually sets, the light changes from golden yellow to orange-red. The entire Wat Arun is surrounded by soft warm colors. The porcelain tiles on the tower body reflect slightly in the light. The beauty of that moment seems impossible to be fully captured by the camera of a mobile phone.
When night falls, the lights in Wat Arun are turned on. The tower glows softly in the dark and is reflected on the water, like a dream painting.
If you come to Bangkok, you must appreciate Wat Arun at different times and from different angles, especially at dusk, and see how it blooms with unique brilliance in the sunset from the perspective of the opposite bank.

Bangkok’s Wat Arun at Sunset: A Golden Symphony on the Chao Phraya River
#bangkoktrips #bangkok #watarun #sunsetscenes #thailand
As the sun dips, Wat Arun transforms. Its gilded spires blaze like liquid gold against a sky streaked with tangerine and violet, mirrored perfectly in the Chao Phraya’s still waters. For the full spectacle, claim a spot on the riverbank—where temple, sky, and river merge into one radiant dream. Sunlight ignites the tower’s intricate porcelain mosaics, their delicate patterns glowing like embers against the golden facade.
Top tip: Pair this with a visit to the Grand Palace and Reclining Buddha at Wat Pho—the best views of Wat Arun are from Bangkok’s old town riverbanks, just a short stroll away. Arrive early to secure your vantage point. This is where Bangkok’s soul shimmers brightest.
Bangkok 3D2N trip!
Bangkok never fails to amaze with its perfect blend of tradition and modernity!
Started the day soaking in the Thai tradition at Wat Arun, then dived into a world of shopping and entertainment at Siam Discovery, MBK Center, and Siam Center, each offering a unique mix of fashion, tech, and local finds.
Ended the adventure at CentralWorld, where the city’s energy peaks with endless dining, shopping, and vibrant nightlife—truly a traveler’s paradise!
My favourite was the visit to Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, where I got lost in a world of creativity, from contemporary art exhibitions to unique handmade crafts. The vibrant atmosphere, filled with local artists exhibition made it a truly immersive experience.

A romantic dinner with a view of Wat Arun Sala Rattanakosin

Romantic dinner with a view of Wat Arun
At "Sala Rattanakosin Eatery & Bar"
This restaurant with a nice atmosphere on the banks of the Chao Phraya River is located at the Sala Rattanakosin Hotel. It stands out with a background that clearly shows the Chao Phraya River and the prang of Wat Arun.
🚩 The restaurant has 3 floors to choose from:
- The first floor is a regular seating area and an open-air balcony area where you can eat and clearly see the river and prang of Wat Arun.
- The second floor is the highlight of this place, with seats by the large glass windows where you can eat while fully enjoying the river and prang of Wat Arun. If the sky is clear, the sunset is absolutely beautiful.
- The third floor is a rooftop bar that is completely open-air, where you can sit and enjoy the cool breeze. For those who like to chill, you can come and sip a light drink while enjoying the view.
As for the food served, there is a wide variety of both Western and traditional Thai food to choose from. You can choose according to your preference. The price may be a bit high. But in exchange for the beautiful view of the prang of Wat Arun and a special meal once in a while, I must say it's worth it!
Overall, I must say that this is a restaurant with a very romantic atmosphere, perfect for couples who want to have dinner together on a special occasion.
📌 There are only 3 tables by the glass on the second floor. If anyone wants to sit here, you can call to reserve in advance.

Lovely views
The location was primarily what attracted us to Rongros. It's by the riverside and you get a beautiful view of wat Arun, the boats passing by and sunsets can be lovely. Food quality is good however the menu choice is not as wide as other Thai restaurants. It also appears somewhat tight. Given its location, they get quite a lot of customers and there is space for say about 20-30 people at once.
So the space shrinks quickly and you feel like it's too close to each other. You can choose to sit indoor or outdoor if you can make advance booking. The outdoors especially the rooftop has the best view. We visited it twice. Once during the day and once around the sunset for dinner. Both times the ambience was lovely. And i would recommend it to anyone seeking ambience, calm and riverside dining.

"Eagle Nest Rooftop Bar"
A rooftop bar with a nice atmosphere on the banks of the Chao Phraya River where you can come up and sit and sip cocktails and watch the beautiful sunset with Wat Arun and the Chao Phraya River as the backdrop.
The shop has 2 zones to choose from: seats by the river and seats inside for those who are afraid of the heat. But let me tell you, the outdoor seats have a great romantic atmosphere, perfect for couples who want to have dinner together on a special occasion.
📍Eagle nest rooftop bar is located on the 5th floor of the Sala Arun Bangkok Hotel.
⏰ The shop opens from 5 pm to midnight.
But if you want a seat by the river, you have to come early. It's even better to come at 4:30 pm because sometimes when the shop is ready to open, the staff will let you go up.

I’m so amazed by the majestic and spectacular view of Wat Arun. It’s such an exquisite piece of architecture.
Location: Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan . It’s located at the West Bank of Chao Phraya River, so you need to take a boat to cross over the river.
Suggested time 🕰️ to go: in the morning so that you’re not all hot and sweaty as well as the pictures are not over exposed.
Opening hours: 8am- 6pm
Entrance Fee: 200baht
Costumes with make up: 1200baht for 6 people (200baht each). Super recommended to put on traditional Thai costume as it’s would a once-in-a-lifetime unique experience ✨
We spent around 2-3 hours there and it’s such a great place for sightseeing and photo shooting 🤩
[A must-see tourist spot in Bangkok] Be dazzled by the giant pagoda!
📍Wat Arun🛕Wat Arun is one of the three major temples in Bangkok, Thailand.
The temple has an impressive huge pagoda, and its construction dates back to the Ayutthaya period.
It is a famous spot that is familiar to Japanese people as it is the temple depicted in Yukio Mishima's novel "Temple of the Dawn"!
When you look at the pagoda up close, you can see that it is decorated with such intricate details that you can't help but forget about the heat and gaze upon it carefully💕
No matter where you take a photo, it is a picturesque temple🥺Please refrain from exposing your skin and take your time to sightsee.
It's beautiful during the day, but at night it's lit up and creates a fantastic atmosphere✨
There's a restaurant🍽️ on the opposite side of the river, so it's recommended to enjoy the view while eating dinner🥹✨

Bangkok's Wat Arun View Best Value Hotel 'Sala Arun Hotel'
Hello. In Bangkok, there is a temple that emits a magical light that never goes out, even in the early morning hours. That temple is 'Wat Arun'.
The biggest advantage of the hotel 'Sala Arun' that I will introduce is that you can view Wat Arun 24 hours a day, and just a 3-minute walk from the accommodation, there is a wonderful temple called 'Wat Pho'.
⏰ Check-in time: 13:00 // Check-out time: 12:00
📍47-49 Tha Tian Aly, Phra Borom Maha Ratchawang, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok 10200 Thailand
📌 Room voltage (V): 220
Sala Arun, which has a direct view of Wat Arun, is a place that offers great value for money, but it has one downside: there is no elevator. However, the staff were very helpful in moving luggage, so it didn't feel too inconvenient when moving around.
It's a place where you can have a hearty breakfast while admiring the glittering Wat Arun in the morning sunlight. Most accommodations include breakfast in the price, which seems to add to the great value.
If you're looking for accommodation with a view of the magnificent Wat Arun, which looks amazing in the morning and spectacular at night, I recommend Sala Arun Hotel.

Exploring Wat Arun in traditional Thai costume was a truly enchanting experience, blending cultural immersion with the historical richness of Bangkok's iconic landmark 📍
Dressed in intricate Thai attire, I felt transported to another era as I approached the temple complex. The vibrant colors and detailed craftsmanship of the costume added a sense of reverence and authenticity to my visit. 🫶🏼
Ascending the steep steps of Wat Arun's central prang, I was awed by the intricate ceramic tiles reflecting the sunlight, creating a mosaic of shimmering beauty. From the top, the panoramic view of the Chao Phraya River and Bangkok skyline was breathtaking, accentuated by the gentle sway of prayer flags in the breeze. 🌬️
Exploring the temple grounds, adorned with smaller pagodas and statues depicting Buddhist mythology, felt like stepping into a living museum of Thai religious art and architecture. Each corner revealed ornate details and symbolic motifs that spoke volumes about Thailand's cultural heritage and spiritual traditions. ✨
As the day concluded, witnessing the temple glow in the golden hour's light, I realized that exploring Wat Arun in Thai traditional costume had not only enriched my understanding of Thailand's past but also left an indelible mark on my heart, fostering a profound connection to this timeless symbol of Thai identity. 🌅

Thailand do not only entice tourists with a mix of modern and ancient tourist spots, but also it’s the food that people keep coming back for. When we were planning for our Bangkok trip, we made sure to at least eat at 1 or 2 restaurants that are famous or included in the Michelin guide. One of the two restaurants we tried is Supanniga Eating Room.
Supanniga Eating Room is included in the Michelin Guide. I recommend eating here when visiting the temples of Wat Pho, Wat Arun, and the Grand Place as it’s located nearby. The stand-alone restaurant has a pretty modern exterior with charming interiors. All the food & drinks we tried were super good and spicy! Haha. I loved the mocktails we ordered. Another reason for dining here is that the restaurants is located riverside thus offering good views of the ferries traversing the waters. The restaurant also offers a view of Wat Arun as it’s just opposite the temple. Our seats provided a good view of Wat Arun. The restaurant also has rooftop seating with unblocked views of Wat Arun and Chao Praya.

Wat Pho, Grand Palace, Wat Arun in 1 Day
A visit to Bangkok would not be complete without going to the famous palaces and temples within the capital. The major landmarks are Wat Pho, Grand Palace, & Wat Arun. They are close to each other, with the Wat Arun only a ferry ride away from the other two places. I would recommend allotting a whole day for these places if you're not in rush.
Wat Pho - must visit because it's the oldest and largest temple in Bangkok and also houses a lot of Buddhas, including the Reclining Buddha.
Grand Palace - was also huge. Honestly, since we did the Wat Pho first, we were already very tired roaming around the Grand Palace. So I only have 1 photo haha. Since Wat Pho was so huge and the architecture style being the same, I think Wat Pho is enough if you're short on time.
Wat Arun - was only able to take a photo across the river. At the time tgat we visited the ferry for crossing is closed and that there's an event so we wouldn't be able to go in.
Be prepared for the weather and bring lots of water with you. We visited when it was scorching hot, adding to our tiredness, we chose to just finish the day at a restaurant.
